Before and After: Why it's important to get a healthy snake from the start!
I was looking through my photos today and took some similar shots today, almost three months later. This makes Orwell about 7 or 8 months old.
First day I got him, sitting in my hand scared half to death

Learning what the camera is, first day again

This picture is from today, very similar:

Notice how his skin is tighter and he is rounder (and bigger! He has grown!)

Today!
It may not seem like much to you guys, but after my first snake experience went so badly I wasn't sure I could do well at all. It's so nice to see that my boy is healthy and growing in the home I have given him. His movements have become much stronger and he has become much calmer since coming to live with us. I still wouldn't recommend ANYONE go through what I went through, though. Buy from a breeder you have researched and researched well, please!
Orwell is a male CH normal, and in my opinion he's as cute as a button!
Bonus periscoping shot (this is my absolute favourite behaviour - how cute!)

And for all of you D&D fans, I just got this in today too :)

Mousch, you are doing such a great job with him! :D
You know that I know exactly what you mean....but we are both more experienced for what we've been through!

Trey ate, right? It's all up from here for your buddy too now! :D
Re: Before and After: Why it's important to get a healthy snake from the start!
Well, Trey got renamed to Emily, and yes, she's eating by herself every week now! She's still afraid of live mice, so she's on frozen hoppers at the moment. She's up to 76g now, and I'll post some before/after shots after she gets through with her current shed :D

I know you understand how thrilling that is, considering Em and little Hero were the same weight at their smallest. I honestly can't believe she made it through that!
Re: Before and After: Why it's important to get a healthy snake from the start!
It's a good thing she did - and she ended up being a girl so yipee for you!!
Re: Before and After: Why it's important to get a healthy snake from the start!
Well, hopefully....she's only been probed my me, and it was my first time. When she's a little bigger, I'll kidnap Cue or Becky and make them do it :halohorn:

Hopefully you're right! If you're wrong that snake will have an identity crisis!

Haha, that would be really sad, wouldn't it?
I'm just glad we both have healthy, happy snakes now. I can't believe how huge Orwell has gotten!
