no it is a scar from an old shed...i got her from a pet store like all the other pet stores did not take care of their snakes.

Yeah, she is too small. I would seperate her even though she may very well have sperm inside of her. Definetly keep trying to feed her. 1200 grams is the very minimal to breed. Most people recommend atleast 1500grams of weight for females to breed succesfully.

What are you smoking? I hope that female doesnt lay eggs. If im not mistaken , you will get no eggs ,a dead snake, or a sick female and slugs. Next time check out some breeding recepies and size charts.;) :sunny:

Can breeding a small snake really hurt the female??

I always thought that the rationale behind a minimum weight was to keep the smaller females eating/gaining to make them better breeders the next season and maximize the male's potential (with bigger girls)...

No-one is stopping the small girls in Africa...

    Re: Check this out
Small snakes can get egg bound, produce very small clutches and then later not produce for several years after the initial breeding. It is very unwise to breed that small.

    Re: Check this out
Just by looking at that picture I can tell you she is WAY WAY to small to be breeding! You are putting your female snake up to a bunch of risk that can include death if she does take.

Also having bad sheds do not leave scars...

okay i already know that everybody thinks i'm an idiot....and i don't blame them....but that is what the scars are from. they are not from burns...i know what those look like. but when i got her she had stuck shed all over her i got almost all of it off. than she shed her skin again...before i got the rest off. and that's when they showed up. so you can tell me i'm wrong about that all you want but that is how it happened.

Multiple layers of bad sheds will actually create a sore that can scar the snake ... I have plenty of rescues with scars from multiple layers of bad sheds never being removed. That's why it's important to make sure any stuck shed is removed from your animal prior to the start of the next shed cycle.

So, I gather what you're trying to say is that multiple layers of bad sheds will actually create a sore that can scar the snake? :D

You don't owe me any explanations ... I don't care ... I was just pointing out that scars can be and are caused by retained sheds. :sweeet: ;)
