PIctures of my Striped Cape House Snake
Re: PIctures of my Striped Cape House Snake
That is a lovely house snake! Good luck on that project!!
I have dealt with the common fuliginosus in the past. Are the care requirements the same?

Identical in fact it is pretty hard to tell a Capensis from a Fuliginosus unless you know exactly what to look for and then mistakes are still made. When you try to breed one to another is when you end up with slugs and the differences become painfully obivious.
On size the Capensis will get a little bigger then a fuliginosus. Males get 3.5-4 feet but a 4 footer is a monster. Females can hit 5 but will be much thinner then say a similar sized rat or corn and a 5 footer is also a monster.
Typical adults of L. Capensis are
Male 3.5 feet and girth about like that of a grown mans thumb (note not a girly man a real man) :rolleye2:
Female 4.5 feet and almost twice the girth of a male

Hey just get one or two! Normals are very nice and you can find them for 30-50 bucks on average, even some nice phases like Cape/Zululands are really affordable. They take up very little space, easy as any snake to care for. Go on get some you know you want to, he he he, :devilish:
Hey I also noticed you have a siberian husky, great dogs here is a shot of my boy Lakota,
