ok it looks like I'm going to be breeding my pastel anyways...I just found a trio...1 adult male and 2 adult females ready to breed for

$400 ! ! ! !

Guy told me one of his buddy's said it one of them looked like a ghost.
I am going to proudly take advantage of this deal when i get paid this weekend...apparently the guy just wants to get rid of them...I'll take 'em...lol..

Be very careful. Not saying you are lying but alot of scum nowadays lie about the sex of a snake they are selling. Not to mention that price seems off for a breedable SINGLE female by about 300 bucks.

Congrats on your snakes though!

Also...just be aware of how often snakes are mis-sexed. There are countless stories right here in our forums about folks who thought they had female bp's and they turned out to be male. (And a few vice-versa as well.) I wouldn't be confident of the sex of any snake that I didn't buy from a well established, very experienced and trusted breeder.

Well I do have to find out about the sex of my pastel still...(this friday by neil golli should be accurate) If it is a male cool, if I got a female then I got a rediculous deal considering i got the snake for $150 (graziani line)

And its a beautiful pastel too! my pics don't do justice on it's color.

As far as the snakes go...I am going to check them out and try to have them sexed before I hand over the money but...If one of them looks like the one that adam posted a sec ago then who cares male or female right? I'd be getting a deal regardless. I know that they are all adults and the guy said that they have bred for him before but he just wants to get rid of them. He was advertising boa's, pythons, and lizards as well for sale ...I was just asking about the ball pythons and thats what he told me he had..

If and when this goes thru.. I'm gonna lose it.. = )

I will have acquired 5 females, a male and a pastel male? in the past month ?
talk about an addiction...these things are like drugs...I'm just hooked...lol

I'll tell you though, I am really understanding the importance of racks. I think I'm going to try to save the money of buying one and build my own.

heck ya, and I really want to believe the guy when he say's that the 2 females are indeed females. they're going on kingsnake for $500 all day long breeding ready...and if the male or one of the females are indeed a ghost even better...

Not only that how sick would it be to get my pastel to breed the two females this year?! (if he is a male) If my pastel is a female though pardon me for my tears of sadness.....lol

I really doubt what they are selling is a ghost or anything other than a normal BP. Either way, make sure you get all your snakes sexed asap.

Ya that is priority (getting them sexed). I don't care if one of them is a ghost or not. i'm SURE they are all normal. But if the 2 he told me were females than I will buy buy buy! I am going to have them probed before I buy tho...

This is why it's worth it's weight in gold to learn how to properly probe and/or pop. I don't go anywhere without my little baggy of probes and KY. LOL The looks I get....

Yeah, I plan on getting some probes at the tampa show. I really need to learn. I have watched a video that show's a good explanation. I'm not saying I know how to do it now but I have a good understanding. Practice makes perfect ya know? everyone starts somewhere and I will make sure to have someone show me how. I know ssscales might be there so maybe he will show me if he comes? anybody else going to be there besides myself tho?

Practice doesn't necessarily make perfect when probing snakes. In fact practice can make sterile snakes. Learn from a professional like a vet or a breeder that has experience doing it before you attempt to do it on your own. Good luck!

I didn't mean on the same snake practicing. And actually I had used a link that someone had posted earlier about vets and I found a vet at the lowry park zoo I'm going to visit. I will actually ask him about it after I get the probes when I do visit him. I wouldn't even attempt it until I had professional personell show me..
