Peta Essay Stuff.
Writing my long-drawnout borish documented essay on why peta should be removed from the tax-exempt status in america. been doing pretty good, my blood pressure has caused only mild bleeding from the ears. (picking around)
for those of you that dislike peta or just want more information, i do plan on saving you the pain of having to read this darn paper but provide you with the links i've been searching and printing from. HOWEVER, read at your own risk and always double check what you read. These are just my raw materials and I have yet to go back and certify these links/sources to make sure i will include them in the paper (early gathering of resources on the paper part)

**as of recent to the date this was posted, Auburn University is getting some negative rep from the peta website. for those of you that dont know, that is my college choice due to its english program. there are some places peta doesnt belong and thats respectivly anywhere near me or the people i love.
**just a note, go have look up on amazon.com for books regarding peta, animal liberation, etc and the like. if you will notice that any book that makes the point -agianst- peta or the like has 0 to very low rating on 'how good the book is' people post that its full of lies and nonsense. HOWEVER look up books promoting peta and there's nothing better in the world. Don't you just love rating systems?
There is so much to be said as to why PETA, ALF, HSUS, and other organizations should balled up and thrown away.
(lol, i kept typing and deleting soo much because im kind of trying not to jump all over this topic and just present some links people may not know of..)

oh god i want to see that soo bad.
and no, the essay of doom isnt done yet. it'll be finished before the day before he big after thanksgiving sale.
but then again, the week of turkey day i'll be at the beach most likely -ohhoho-
honestly, i have no problems with vegans, vegetarians, animal lovers or activists. but if you're supporting peta, which supports the fbi-terrorist labeled ALF directly... why cant some of those folks join their own club.. something like.. people-for-the-ethical-treatment-of-animals-that-doesnt-want-to-pwn-everything. hence the paper. i dont think they should be tax-free and enjoy benefits of charities and other np organizations when peta deliberatly and directly hands over money to convicted arsonists and terrorist organizations.
peta has their 'plan' for the future which is either "Hay ya'll all the human-animals live over here and all the non-human animals live over there. No Touching!" or People are just off the earth entirely. Goodness knows enough peta people have made the comment enough.
so if you ever hear of peta trying to pass any new laws or what not, it may not seem like anything for them to want to make pets be called 'companion animals'- just remember they want animals on the same level as people and want to make it harder for people to own/breed/sell animals. it also may not seem 'bad' that they want needless testing on animals stopped, but remember they also want animal testing for things like cancer and aids stopped also.
also, if you really care about animals- im just about certian near every town and city has an animal shelter (never give money to the HSUS, they're just as bad) donate to them. all peta does with your money is buy cow costumes and dance outside of mcdonalds. or maybe pay for the drugs & needles it took to put down all those adoptable animals they did because its just easier to kill them than actually take care of them. or print out papers and phamplets called "YOUR MOMMY KILLS ANIMALS" which graphically shows a woman stabbing a rabbit- these, they give to small children when leaving the school without parental permission.
i wish i were exaggerating or making any of this stuff up. seriously.

Re: Peta Essay Stuff.
Ha, in the video the chairperson claims that pets or animals in captivity are slaves and should all be set free. Also PETA compares the way that chickens are kept cooped up to the way the Nazis treated the Jews in the Holocaust, pretty absurd stuff. Also they're against animal testing, yet one of the members, who has diabetes, takes insulin shots made from animal products. Can you say HYPOCRITE?!
If you really want to see the video, PM me and I'll send it your way.

Re: Peta Essay Stuff.
they also have been caught snatching pet cats and dogs from the owners back yards and putting them down  WTF is wrong with these idiots

Re: Peta Essay Stuff.
I am a Humane Officer in a county in PA. I hate PETA. I stand for all that is right for animals. I.E. Humane Officer.........But to pour blood on people in fur or to yell volger (?)words at people who are eating meat for dinner is outragous. I deal with this group on a monthy bases and they are all off the wall dumb. They can't make up their minds..........
??? Do we love all little animals???? Vs, ??? Let's just love the one we think are cute???
PETA don't stand for " People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals "
I am not sure what it stands for any more.:sabduel:

Re: Peta Essay Stuff.
You can find the Penn & Teller thing on youtube.com, it was excellent!
Peta doesn't want what's best for animals, they want total segregation of human and animals. For us to have no interaction with the other at all. It's bizarre, insane, and they need to go away to put it mildly... :thumbsdow

In my opinion, i really dont think the people that started peta have too much for animals; i think they came up with a radical idea, got so wrapped up in it that now they have a perverse desire to have control over others- and what better way than animals?
how many philosophers have said that to remove animals from man would create the sorriest existance of humans? im sure i speak for everyone here when i say that to try and seperate me from any interactions with animals would be a slow and horrible torture.
and to just make a note- if you're a member of peta i dont care if you're a member just because you feel they do some good for animals- you're supporting an organization that supports extremists, terrorists, and criminals. you cannot hide from that fact. if you're a member whether you like it or not if you claim any affiliation with peta i assume you either 1) support ALL their actions or 2)are too stupid to do research.
as far as animals being plucked from their homes and euthanized- i think i've read of that but im not 100% sure.
and to the person that mentioned that they compare chickens to holocost victims- did you know that they also have a site (i think its called jesusveg.com/org) where they try to convince christians that jesus was vegan and that its a sin to eat animals? ive seen a billboard here where either god or moses (has 10 commandments and long white hair) is shouting "I SAID THOU SHALT NOT KILL" even though there is a passage in the new testament where one of the diciples (i belive) had the dream where it was said that ALL animals were okay for consumption! I just wanted to scream. To think you can compare chickens to the horrific horrors of the holocaust and tell christians what to believe gets to that level where i'm pretty much speechless.
*shuffles off to watch youtube*

Re: Peta Essay Stuff.
Read the very bottom message and go up,lol. I used a friends myspace to talk to this PETA person...
WARNING
WILL LOWER YOUR IQ... :8:
--------------------------------------------
Good morning, Shaun!
Some animal rights activists have broken inanimate objects such as stereotaxic devices (the metal contraptions that hold an animal’s head in place with screws into the skull) and decapitators and have burned empty buildings in which animals were tortured and killed. Some raids have provided proof of horrific cruelty that would not have been discovered or believed otherwise. They have resulted in criminal charges against laboratories and experimenters for violations of state and federal animal protection laws and, in some cases, have shut down abusive labs for good.
While these activists and PETA have very different approaches, we will certainly not condemn them for carrying out illegal actions in which no living being is harmed. Since current regulations are almost non-existent, and those that do exist often go unenforced, these actions are sometimes the only way hideous cruelties have been exposed and ended.
We are against the breeding of any animals for profit - even reptiles. Not only does this reinforce the misconception that animals are commodities and pieces of property rather than sentient, feeling individuals, it adds to the overpopulation of these animals (yep, even reptiles!). You can adopt reptiles at animal shelters or through rescue groups, which we encourage folks to do rather than go through breeders...
Take care!

What do you think of ALF?
HSUS?
Reptile (or any other animal for that matter) breeders who will eventually make a living off of snakes or reptiles?

I know which quote you're talking about, Shaun - people bring it up all the time not knowing that the person who said it was speaking for himself. His comments meant that he personally supports efforts by some people who break the law to fight injustice and his quote does not reflect PETA’s policy or activities. Again, please let me clarify that PETA is an activist organization working to educate the public about the horrors of animal cruelty through totally peaceful means; we do not engage in of activities in which anyone, human or other-than-human, is injured.
What PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk actually said was, “Even if animal experiments did result in a cure for AIDS, of which there is no chance, I’d be against it on moral grounds.” As AIDS activists know, real progress in understanding this deadly disease—including our knowledge of how it is transmitted and how it can be prevented—has come from human clinical and epidemiological studies. Recent clinical trials of drugs in HIV-positive human patients—not animals—have led researchers to believe that the eradication of HIV may one day be possible.
The goal of ending horrible diseases like AIDS is, of course, worthwhile, but this doesn’t mean that all possible methods of trying to attain that goal are justified. For example, there are medical problems that could be cured, or better understood, by testing on unwilling humans, but we don’t conduct such tests because we recognize that it would be morally wrong to do so.
Lastly, PETA is certainly not against companion animals but rather the breeding of these animals which contributes to overpopulation. We encourage people who have the responsibility, time and love to adopt animals from shelters rather than breeders or pet stores and to spay or neuter their animals to prevent more dogs and cats from being born.
Thanks!

O ok ok let me get this straight... LEADERS of PETA have been quoted to say crazy stuff about blowing up stuff. If you want the link, justn ask and I will be happy to give it to you ;)
But why do you guys not want people to have pets? You want TOTAL animal liberation. No meat, no leather, no milk, no PETS (which I have more than i can count) , no CURES.(yes, without lab rats and mice, we wouldn't be able to come even close to a cure for anything.) Ingrid Newkirk evven said "If there was a cure for aids, I would be against it." Because of testing on rats.
Personally I'm biased because my mother's company had a lab sabotaged by Animal rights activist because they were testing on rats!

No worries, Shaun - everyone is entitled to be kind of childish sometimes :)
While some individuals, like those in other social movements of the past, take it upon themselves to break the law to fight injustice PETA does not commit these acts. As the largest animal rights organiztion in the world with more than 1.1 million members and supporters, we are often blamed for the acts of independent individuals.
PETA is not an animal shelter and we do not run an adoption facility. We offer a humane death to animals who would otherwise suffer a slow and painful end. The vast majority of animals we accept are only those who are in terrible conditions or unadoptable for some reason, such as aggression or sickness in old age. In other words, we accept the majority of these animals to provide them with a peaceful death through euthanasia, usually by request.
We believe that the spaying and neutering of animals, supported by appropriate local laws, is the single most effective tool in reducing the number of unwanted animals. For that reason, our humane education and outreach programs promote spaying and neutering. Our goal is to create a society where every dog and cat has a loving home. We have always advocated fixing the problems of overpopulation through practical methods, including encouraging people not to patronize pet shops or breeders. This information, however, rarely gets coverage in the media.
Thanks again for letting me share more information on what PETA is really about, Shaun!
Best,
Deedra

Hi Shaun,
PETA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) advocacy organization that educates the public about the horrors of animal suffering through entirely nonviolent means; unlike our opponents, we do not commit acts of violence against anyone—human or nonhuman. PETA works to stop cruelty to animals through pamphlets, billboards, letters, ads, articles, peaceful demonstration, litigation, prosecution, humane education in schools, and colorful campaigns.
Children are inherently compassionate toward animals, but most of them know nothing about how animals suffer in the meat industry. We believe that those people who are angry with PETA for revealing the dangers and the cruelty inherent in eating meat would do better to direct their anger at the meat and dairy industries, which profit from selling foods that cause a multitude of health problems for children and adults alike.
Since the meat and dairy industries’ job is to peddle products, not to provide useful nutritional information, the materials that they distribute don’t tell impressionable kids about the health hazards inherent in high-fat meat- and dairy-based diets. Instead, they claim that meat and dairy products are essential parts of a healthy diet—a claim that is contrary to the lessons of today’s nutritional knowledge.
Thanks for listening, Shaun - have a great day.

Re: Peta Essay Stuff.
Wow, reading all that happy go lucky PETA nonsense did make me lose a little in the intelligent department, but it also made my case against them stronger. Especially where she claims that PETA doesn't support terrorist organizations such as ALF. Why then did PETA donate 25,000 to a guy from ALF that was sent to prison after arson bombing an animal testing facility. They also sent money to the guy's father!! Hypocrates all of them! Non profit organization my butt! I think some of the members even have pets?

's why i made a note that i had not verified all of my resourses yet- however, she's a big fan of wiki so it depends..
Shaun- most of that crap she fed you was so full of it i thought i'd drown. Yes, they're not a shelter BUT they tell people where their headquarters are based that they DO take in animals to ADOPT OUT. Of course they wont tell the people that they think the animals are 'too dependant on people and need to be euthanized'. Abused/dying animals sometimes are so unreachable they need to be euthanized- baby kittens and healthy pets do not. Sorry.
ugh i have more to say but dang it im at work..
then again i always have more to say n_n
anywhoo- saw the penn & teller i love the hypocrite who's like "yeah, i need insulin to live and yeah it came from animal testing but its good because i need to live to save the animals" FREAKING A!

Re: Peta Essay Stuff.
PETA's members can go **** ****. :D I hate them; half of what they say makes absolutely no sense. They're *******. Hypocrites, like most of you said.
However, I have to make a point about animal testing. There are alternate ways of testing, yes, for AIDS and stuff too. For example, there are human skin cultures that don't hurt people or animals. There's other stuff, too, that I can't remember. So animal testing is unneccesary. Unless I've forgotten something. If there are no other ways to test, then I say, 'I guess you have to', but most of the time there are alternatives. I am super-against animal testing, as you can probably tell.

actually, no. i understand about human skin cultures and what not, but to say that nothing can be yielded from animal testing isnt true if one simply looks at what has been accomplished through animal testing already.
but i am completely uncapable of arguing this topic however, as i have nothing to support my claims (other than medicines that have come from animal testing which i will google some point in time) but im sure Mendell's_Ball's would have an opinion on that statement.
oh- and for aids: monkey's carry aids, and i think that it either really doesnt affect(effect) them(atleast not to the extent we are affected(effected). would it be completely fruitless to run tests on monkey's to figure out WHY and WHAT in their bodies provents the problems humans experience?
Shaun- i know you didnt! lol! it just makes me so mad! she just up and blantantly LIES to your face its so pathetic! ugh.
