Super Nintendo
That's old school for me...I had one of those when I was like 6 or 7....and now i've got this crazy urge to buy an old super nintendo with SUPER MARIO WORLD!!
I also remember Atari (pong, battle tanks)...the good ol' days. I am downloading this new program called GameTap...It's full of old school games....I'm just reliving my glory days...lol...anyone else addicted to Super Mario World?

Re: Super Nintendo
my hubby looooooves mario games :)

Re: Super Nintendo
Yeah I remember some of that old stuff (I wasn't allowed to have any video games when I was real little)
Most (maybe all) of the old mario world/mario land/mario whatever have been ported to the GameBoy Advance so you could get one of those instead of an old SNES.

Re: Super Nintendo
I've currently been addicted to the New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo DS. It's my favorite DS game aside from Mario Kart. My only gripe is that I have to beat a boss, or go to a mushroom house to be able to save.

Yeah, when I was 6 or 7, the closest thing I had to a video game was when my dad would say, "Steve, get up and go change the channel to 9. I want to watch the news". And of course, back then the video games (televisions) were black and white. You had to be REALLY rich to have a color one.

Re: Super Nintendo
I loved my SNES and always will. Now though, even though I got it like 10 years ago, N64 is still the best. Super Smash Brothers and Goldeneye will always be my favorite games.

Re: Super Nintendo
I thik the name of this game is DUCK HUNTER its so fun!! Played on a N64.
-
Re: Super Nintendo
LOL! tony is playing that right now (well not atm, but currently) since is super-wonderful-amazing-and-excellent xbox360 died (he's having DT's for the game Oblivion lol) and has resorted to playing his SN until it gets fixed or such.
i love how old school is still glomping new school.

Re: Super Nintendo
lol; I remember sneaking in with my friend, into my sister's room to play NES when I was in my preteen years; her boyfriend owned the system and would get enraged if we "kids" played it; but when the cat's away..
Then finally I saved up my birthday money and got my own; Mario 3 was played endlessly by us!! I liked Mario 2, though it was oddly different than the others; but 3 rocked cuz you could fly!
SNES, I was not that much into though. By that time I was into other things, my friend moved away and though she had it, I always liked the feel of the older nintendo better. Then I learned what a playstation was a few years later and it rocked!

Re: Super Nintendo
Where can I get another one other than Ebay??
-
Re: Super Nintendo
Sega Genesis is and always will be the best!!
Streets of Rage, Tecmo Superbowl, Toe Jam and Earl.
Although, NES had Captain Skyhawk, Exite Bike, and Punch-out...

I checked out one pawn shop, but they carried more recent systems like PS2, CameCube, and had one Xbox360
Ebay is probably your best bet...I won one last night and it was about $60 shipped...

Ah, a fellow DS lover! I bought my DS specifically for mario kart DS, but I have since bought (and beat) new super mario bros too!! Once you beat the game the first time, you can save whenever you want, and you can play as Luigi!

I just beat Mario 2 again (for the millionth time) last week! In japan they released a super mario 2 that was identical to super mario bros., but with new levels. Nintendo America decided it wouldn't sell well because it was just too similar to the first. It is actually from another japanese game platform called Doki Doki Panic. Nintendo just changed the graphics of the main characters to be Mario and the gang. In my opinion, probably the best move they made with the NES. (man am I a geek or what?!.....)

Re: Super Nintendo
Yes I love my SNES! I've had mine since I was 13. The dogs ate the controllers long time ago so I packed it up and put it away. My brother found and bought controllers a few weeks ago and we've been playing nonstop.
Super Mario All Stars, Zelda (A link to the past),Rampart,Super Mario World, thats where it's at ;)

Re: Super Nintendo
I used to play on the old Texas Instrumants TI-994a! Alpiner was my favorite game; though there were so many glitches, and you'd get JUST a little bit farther than last time when it'd freeze up or something, lol!!

Re: Super Nintendo
We have the first Nintendo still! And we Duck Hunter with that stinking gun, I remember when I was a little girl and we got it, I would put the gun right up to the screen and cheat.
Right now I to love my DS. I'm a fan of Sims so I am playing that on DS and on the computer. I have sims for PS but we never play any more.

Re: Super Nintendo

I've played those old text adventure games too.. I don't know, I like them.

I'm not, I just grew up in a house where the newest technology was worth the money (we had a CD player in our front room in '85), at least for a while. I was quite proficient in DOS by the age of 7, and was on my first local BBS with an external 400 baud modem before most households had computers. After the 386 era, I didn't really care about the newest thing anymore, so I'm way behind the times now, but I get by. All the new games and such just don't intrest me much, I'll take the old systems over an xbox 360 anyday. :carrot:

lol.. I remember playing games on our old 286.. and our Mac SE-30. I started using computers when I was 2.
Good old DOS.

Re: Super Nintendo
LOL. I played Super Maro Bros 3 this weekend on a modded x box :)
I have lost my touch and I'm just not as good as I used to be. Apparently I still remember a lot of the "secret" stuff in the levels though.

Re: Super Nintendo
I really liked Super Nintendo... it was the only system I really played. I found out my current boyfriend had one, so we hooked it up, bought some games, and brought it to my house... unfortunately it was a lot more fun in my memories.

yeh i hear that...when i was a kid, I played Super Mario and Donkey Kong for months and could not beat it. I bought Super Mario and Donkey Kong on Ebay for a few bucks, and Mandy and I conquered both games in about 3 days....it was ridiculously easy...no challenge.
Super Nintendo For Sale :D inquire within.
