my husband is going to hate me for this...

Well as you all know I have been wanting to get a Pastel male for quite a while. I looked all over, checked prices, quality, costomer service, ect...ect.

well I filaly saved up enough to put a down payment on an ok looking 05 male Bell line (it dosen't pay to be broke when starting a breeding venture) when I got a call from a very well known breeder...

long story short I bought a 100% het pied male and an awesome looking Pastel male for the price I was going to pay for a snake I really didnt like in the first place.

Both will be here on the first of December.

Pete is going to ring my neck whe he sees 2 snakes and not just the one.

heehee, yup i hear ya. i just told my hubby that if i can get two piebalds from adam like i'm hoping... that he needs to build me a rack. i think he's as excited as i am about it though :D

I'm waiting on a call back right now but I will see if i can get some pics. I just got the invoice and I still can believe the deal I'm getting. I also Got 4 t shirts out of it too.

I'm going to try next month to go down there and visit the breeders or try and meet them in San Diego and take them out to lunch :D I couldn't be happier

Try this on for size. Just bought a house, Paying for a wedding she indulged me in the het pied male from Daniel. Try going to her and telling her you want to buy out right just write a check for 2 het peid females and four (two breeding non related) pastels two jungel VPI and two Lemon NERD line.. That went over like a lead balloon

I just told my husband and he said that if I buy any more with out asking him first he WILL ring my neck. LOL

I dont know if this has ever been done but if I bread my 100% het pied male to a Pastel female and them bred one of the babies back would it be possable to some day get Pastel Pieds? if I keept breeding back and so on and so forth... you know what I mean?

Yea you can make pied pastels.

Sure, Your first clutch would be normal 50% hets and pastel 50% hets. You could keep the pastel girls to breed back to your het pied male, or another het pied male. And in theory could wind up with pastel pied.

I believe that assuming one of the pastel girls was also het pied, your chance of getting a pastel pied from that clutch would be 12.5%.

GF: Actually holds him so much and pets him so much he losses his head shyness... Won't hold my other ball pythons but pets a 11ft Retic's head and neck. WTF?!

i am spoiled as well. i just tell him what i'm buying and he just asks what he needs to build to house it LOL whether it's frogs, lizards, fish, snakes, kittens... whatever. he could care less about how much i spend or what i buy... cause he loves all these critters too.

LOL, I dont think my husband wants me to cook, ever! I burn everything, I guess thats why I married a cook;) . He is not happy about the snake at all. The 1st night I brought Kaa home, my hubby woke me up at 3am, just to make sure Kaa hadnt escaped.

Oh well, he was the same way when I brought Shiela, our macaw home. Now they are best friends.
I guess I'll find out how he responds to snake #2 somwhere down the line.

Sadly, probably not much in the next few years. I seriously thought it'd be possible to make a little $$ in this hobby; glad I got into it for fun and love of the animal instead of the $$, since apparently that won't pan out nowadays.
