Don't buy from pet-co. I've heard a few stories from here and personal friends of my own who bought snakes with mites. He's better buying from a reputable reptile dealer. Also, make sure they read up to give proper care for whatever pet they decide to get.

Your friend should get all of the same stuff that your other friend with the albino ball python has. ;)

Just as long as the basic needs are met:

Hot side of 92-94 and cool side of 82-84 (measured by digital thermometer)
    Humidity of 50-60%
Two identical, tight fitting hides (such as these)
    Water bowl (duh :P)

    Anything else I forgot?

You can get everything at PETCO, except maybe a thermostat and a tub (depending on if your friend wants to work extra to keep up the heat/humidity in the glass tank), although it would be cheaper to get it on the internet from somewhere like reptilesupply.com.

The all-in-one package really doesn't have everything you need to keep a ball python healthy.

If you're talking about the snake kit, I would say not to get it. I got one for my corn snake at Petco, and it was a waste of money. The stick on thermometers are junk (get a digital) and the log hide (you only get one) isn't a good hide for a BP plus, he'll need two identical hides. I would tell him to purchase everything seperately, it'll save him a few bucks. Maybe, have him check out the forum and some care sheets too.
