Are those from the hairless mother ? I remember the other thread about her not being able to give birth. Glad it turned out all right! Good luck ;) .

Momma killed one. Atleast I think she did. I didn't see anymore blood but it wasn't in the nest dead or alive. These rats always seem to fascinate me.

What is that little mark on the one's head, I noticed it in both pictures.
Make sure to post some more pictures, I have never actually gotten to see them this young, mine were all bought after they looked this cute.

Sometimes first time moms will not know the difference between baby and placenta(which they are supposed to eat). Sometimes babies get eaten in the process.

It sounds like she is either very stressed out and is eating them to protect herself, or she isn't providing enough milk and is killing them off to make sure the rest survive. Could be both, you never know.

She is separated from the male, yes? If not, that's contributing to her stress as she's already pregnant again.

And yes, bite marks and missing limbs on new babies are very common with first time moms.

Oh ya. shes done with the male. I think I'm gonna kill her off after this litter and feed her off. I really don't have room to keep any more rats than I need and she won't contribute to my collection anymore a year from now than she does now. I'm gonna take your advice and get normal females and maybe keep the hairless male for a while
