    OMG! they are AMAZING!!!!

*silly question* what makes them "killer bees" instead of just bees?

If spider is the gene I think it is a Bee x Bee = Killer bees (super form).

    Absolutely stunning Kara... well done!!

Not a silly question at all - understanding the different genetic combos behind designer mutations is all part of the learning process.

    Bumble Bee = Pastel Spider

Killer Bee = Super Pastel Spider

BTW...Wakefield MA is only about a 40 minute drive from here if you ever want a crash course in BP morphs firsthand. :)

Kara...those babies SLAY me! I can't wait to see what they look like in all their grown-up glory!

    delerium...a "bumble bee" is a pastel/spider. A "killer bee" is a super-pastel/spider.

I think the Axanthic morph has been a "sleeper" until recently, and we're just getting an idea of what the genetic potential here really is. I'm always amazed when people overlook this trait...het axanthics/axanthics are such a no-brainer for a fun project, and I think we're going to see a LOT more demand for them in the future.

    Just my $.02...I love Axanthics!!!

This is true... I didn't have a huge interest in the Axanthics until these photos illustrated the gene's potential. Awesome, awesome snakes!

    Kara,
That is an awesome Group of project pics. I think way too many people have not spent enough effort on the Axanthic project. Hopefully that will soon change. I plan on mixing mine with evrything. Very stunning animals. By the way, I would love to see an Axanthic Spider, and was wondering if ya'll have a shot atone of those still this year?

monochrome ball pythons = amazing :O:O

if you dont mind me asking a few questions,

what line axanthic does that axanthic pastel come from?

the axanthic pastel, just from breeding axanthic x pastel? or was a super pastel required?
sorry im not up much on my biology.

    but once again
those are freakin awsome :groinkick :disbelief

    Re: Fun with Axanthics...
They're all from our line of Axanthic. The Axanthic Pastel was produced from het axanthic to Pastel het axanthic (well, Spi het Ax X Bumble het Ax if you really want to get technical)...the Axanthic trait in ball pythons is recessive, so must be produced from breeding het to het, homozygous to het or homozygous to homozygous.

Kara - How old is Daddy?

SMOKIN bees! Can't wait to pop some of those out! I should have Pastels het Ax next season and hopefully my female spider will go soon after that... so maybe 2 years or so till I can make an Ax Bee of some sort! CAN'T WAIT!
