Re: pics of new setup and apartment (DU W!)
very nice. I would avoid the stereo and snake rack combo Personally, since the vibrations might drive them nuts even from a small stereo. Looks great tho and thanks for sharing!

Re: pics of new setup and apartment (DU W!)
lol that's what i said after my roommate proceeded to try that setup. i don't use it ever, don't have many cds and i love to play music of my comp in other rooms. should be straight, thanks:)

Re: pics of new setup and apartment (DU W!)
looks nice. Is your bed on the ground? I actually like it like that though. :P
I'm not big on fancy huge beds. Ours is actually made to lay really low to the ground. Although it stll has a headboard and frame.

Re: pics of new setup and apartment (DU W!)
This pic is a few months old...there is now an identical rack on top of this one, and the dimmers were replaced with a HerpStat thermostat.

Re: pics of new setup and apartment (DU W!)
lol susan, yep bed is on the ground. got used to it last year in college and have never switch back, not really fond of big headboards but sometimes it's good to have the bed off the ground a bit, it's working out very nice though.
and
wow, sho. love what you did to the place lol. even the airholes in the side have style. and i'm guessing that herpstat is working out great? i've got a dimmer set up right now and obviously it demands a couple times a day checking to make sure everything is running smoothly. maybe one day a tstat will fall off the back of a truck as it drives by my place...that'd be nice.
cheers :)

Re: pics of new setup and apartment (DU W!)
Nice place ya got there! :) I will post a few snake room pics later when I get home.
I think it's a neat idea for us to post home/house pics; kinda like a BP.net version of MTV's "Cribs. " :D

Your wish is my command. ;)
If I ever get around to doing some cleaning up in the office, I'll take a few pics to share in this thread, too. :)

Re: pics of new setup and apartment (DU W!)
Home?? needs cleaning. Snake room?? in an upheaval at the moment. sorry, but no thanks. Think I'll pass this time.

Re: pics of new setup and apartment (DU W!)
Kinda amazed I could fit it all in one picture.. well actually two snakes are in the other room, but this is the main 'wall of snakes'.

Re: Show off your snake-rooms, setups, and your home! (DU W!)
The only pics of the setups I have is this one:
http://img450.imageshack.us/img450/3655/tanks002iy0.jpg
The bottom holds a trio of adult crested geckos, and the top one holds one subadult male crested.
That's only two out of the 6 tanks that are in my bedroom :P
Edit:
Here's a pic of two of my adults hanging out in the big tank:

Shelby, I am impressed; what brand name are those door-fronts in the middle? I really wish I had more $$; those would be in my house if so!

Re: pics of new setup and apartment (DU W!)

Re: Show off your snake-rooms, setups, and your home! (DU W!)
Ok, here goes...
This is the "Ball Python Wall". I have a seperate reptile room for the tegu lizards & cornsnakes which require a cooler brumation period. I do however have a 150 gallon tank in the livingroom with some blues tegus too.
http://www.siscoreptiles.com/ball%20...ackcluster.jpg
Note: These racks were designed by me. The top left and top center were my first prototypes and the top right and bottom three are my final design. They are all heated with bottom heat, 3" flexwatt hooked to rheostats. The first two prototypes had externally buttons, which I decided against on my final prototype (in fear someone would bump them). The final prototype has a hole in the top left of each rack in which a special tool can be inserted to adjust the temps.
Also, since taking that picture I attended the reptile expo in White Plains NY and my ECS (Empty Cage Syndrome) kicked in and I filled the few empty spots on the lower left rack with 0.1 Mojave and 1.1 het Ivory! :)
Hope you enjoy the picture.

Re: Show off your snake-rooms, setups, and your home! (DU W!)
Here's my humble abode: I live in a studio with a wall seperating the sleeping area from the living area... it's tiny, but home :)
This is the view right as you walk in the door:

Turn to the right from the door:

Views from my fave place, the big brown chair:

My bedroom area:

Desk in the bedroom area (PC is still at home):

The snakes sleep at the foot of my bed:

And the geckos out in the living room:

And here's the newest addition to my little managerie: my bright scarlet betta. His name is Alf (short for Alpha Beta... Frank named him  )

Hope you enjoyed the tour (minus the bathroom)!

Re: hot rack
Awesome pics so far; Cue, I love the photo idea there. Lynn, your in-bedroom rack is really nifty; it makes good use of not too much space; much smarter than having tanks everywhere :)
Here's Mark and I's humble abode..As you probably know, Mark and I rent an old farmhouse. Here's a view from up on the hill:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...farmhousey.jpg
The house itself.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../farmhouse.jpg
The living room, from which I view this forum at our nifty computer desk :) We recently got the metal detector, in the foreground, from my dad and need to experiment with it yet!

Another view off to th left of the first pic; the other living room wall

The former dining room; now snakey-dining room :) The only snake not in here is Bela; she is off in the breakfast nook (didn't get a shot of that, sorry.)

The bedroom!

The kitchen! Awesome floor, huh?

I call this "my room." I paint/draw in here, and also it doubles as a laundry room with rat nook!

Rat nook on other side of washer/dryer.

The deck! Ghostly halloween decorations included on glass :)

Rick, those racks are killer! What kind of wood is that and how is the weight? What prompted you to go with rheostats instead of tstats?

Re: Show off your snake-rooms, setups, and your home! (DU W!)
Older, but fairly accurate shots of the invert room:
http://img472.imageshack.us/my.php?i...tulashelf1.jpg
http://img472.imageshack.us/my.php?image=scorps2.jpg
http://img472.imageshack.us/my.php?image=slings.jpg
Add about 90 or so more vials all over the floor and that covers all the scorpion babies.
Old shot of the reptile room:

http://img472.imageshack.us/my.php?image=leos.jpg
http://img472.imageshack.us/my.php?i...ythonrack1.jpg
There's another ball python rack stacked on top of that one now, and my carpet pythons (and one gopher snake) are living in what used to be crested gecko tubs :P

Cool house, Susan! Yer furniture looks like the kind that could swallow you up in a nap for a bunch of hours.

Thank you...The leather can be kinda cold, but is perfectly comfy with a nice warm blanket.
