Re: more of my art.
Jessica, that is cool looking:cool: .What do you charge for something like that? What is it made of ?

Re: more of my art.
Gorgeous!! Is that wood? I adore 3d work, it's never been my strong suit! :sweeet:

Re: more of my art.
as for what I would charge ... I have no clue. I have never gotten offers for my work. I just see something I like and I sculpt or paint it. as for what it is made out of here is a photo.

The box is 8lbs of white Polymer clay. It feels and acts like Oil based clay but will not melt, will not harden if left out and can be baked in an oven or toster oven. that box there was $34.00 and has lasted me over a year. Most of my large stuff is not solid clay but a foil body wraped in clay and then carved or sculpted for the full 3d effect.

Re: more of my art.
Thanks. I hope to sell it once I'm finished. I really wanted it to be a Ball Python but the head got smooshed by my cat and it looked more like a Short tailed python then, so I fixed it up just a bit, baked it and now I'm painting it but sadly I'm very limited on paint colors so it is going to be my own short-tailed morph lol :P

lol my cat likes to smoosh things too (mainly by laying all over my keyboard). I'm just glad he hasnt managed to step on one of my wet paintings and walked all over the house lol that would be awful

Re: more of my art.
Wow, I really like that; so often, you see sculptures of snakes that are so completely off-the-wall wrong looking in terms of anatomy, size, and colors, but yours is accurate and I like the colors you used. :)
-
Re: more of my art.
wow thanks Ginevive. I was very limited on colors so it was time to mix and match. right now I'm putting the finishing touches on it. I will say that flames and blushing are a female dog to do. So this Short-tailed is going to have very little flames if any untill I get the hang of the color mixing and proper color placement.
My next one will be very detailed, each scale carved.

Re: more of my art.
Ah, Sculpy! That's fun stuff, it's been a while, but nothing I've tried to make with it has turned out half that nice. :) Very cool.

Re: more of my art.
Well I posted up on reptile auctions and so far no one seems to like it , I put what I thought was a reasonable price on it. $20.00
I'm trying to save up for a pastel.

Re: more of my art.
The Lucy is on canvas but if you would like I can make a custome sculpture for you of one. The painting is not finished yet but here is a teaser for ya.

and here is my work desk
http://www.hexibase.com/~jessica/crystal2.JPG
I study as much of each animal as I can (hence the book) so I can get the right shading and tone. for the Lucy it was hard. The closest thing i had to look at was a 90% white piebald photo. I wanted to see how the light reflected of the scales and the shadow.
