I have to say this to all of the people I annoyed...
I am trying to make a sincere effort to learn how to get along and be a contributing member of this little community and I am truly sorry about angering and annoying as many people as I did with my stupid posts.

That's not how the system works...to redeem yourself you will need to make positive contributions to the community. Just simply asking for positive points because you apologize does not entitle you to any added reputation. Its great you're making an effort to shape up, no go do it, and you're rep will increase in that way.

you can't just ask for people to give you reputation points.. if thats how it worked, your reputation would just represent how generous other people are to boost your rating.. it is meant to give people who are not familiar with you an idea of how other people perceive you.

be a positive person and you will receive a positive reputation, and gradually everyone will become aware of that :grouphug:

    Well said....

Getting your rep back to positive means you will have to earn it...there is no other way around it.

Thanks for the apology! It means alot when one realizes they have made a mistake, and apologises for it, then turns themselves around and becomes a positive person to have around. I am sure you will have a good rep again, as others have turned themselves around and repaired thier reps.

Asking for forgiveness is understandable and saying your sincere about it is too. But then asking for a positive rep makes me ponder. "Are you really so sincere" You should prove your worthiness not ask for the respect you wanted. If you were mean and annoyed people like you claim you did, you just cannot ask for a positive rep right after you apologized.. Not how it works.

As others have said - you have to earn positive reputation. Apologizing and then asking for postive points makes the apology seem less sincere.

Continue to ask more questions and give less advice until you have more personal experiences that you can share, and not just repeat information you've read without having experienced it yourself.

You'll get there, but you can't ask for positive reps, only Jamie can do that! ;)

Yeah your right. But Its sometimes helps when a multiple people say the same thing because the offender may think if only 1 or 2 people say it they are the only ones who think that. But I do think your right.:snake: :kitty:

Ryan, i was just like you when i first joined. my rep went down to like 2 i think. now its up to 63 (i know! im amazed too!)

all you have to do (atleast what i did) was only make serious posts and really think about what you're saying and how others will react to it. its important not to get mad at anyone for them telling you something you didnt want to hear, or to make stupid jokes or be sarcastic when not really wanted. (like saying your BP is 6000 grams and then going "did i say hes 6000? hes actually 16000" a few posts down trying to be funny) know what i mean?

for now try to stick to learning, and when suited possibly helping with the small stuff you have down. you know, if a newbie comes on here and wants to know what temps to give his BP and you know, tell him. pretty soon you'll have your stuff down and can start to be a real asset. until then just try listen and learn.

    keep it real! https://ball-pythons.net/forums/imag...party00311.gif

by the way: guys, im really going for the double greens:cool: . care to spare some rep points?:confuzd: . just kidding:P

And Marshall carries himself very professionally. He makes sure that he writes clearly so that his messages are understood, he has taken time to research the morphs that he wants to breed, and he's participating giving good advice based on his personal experiences. He would be taken more seriously than someone who doesn't display his "professionalism" for lack of a better word.

I would seriously give thoughtful consideration to buying a snake, or even doing a trade with Marshall in the future, because he has participated here for years, has demonstrated that he's taking his time, doing proper research about the projects he wants to work with, and isn't in a rush to breed.

Believe me, there are a lot of us new hobbiests who pay attention to the people who post, how intelligent their posts are (ie, demonstrate their knowledge of the care and genetics of ball pythons), and write them down as someone that we hope to do business with or maybe even trades. For example - I have never purchased anything from Tim Bailey myself - but his posts have demonstrated to me that he cares for his collection the way that I do with mine. I have referred him to posters here and on other forums because of that.

If I remember correctly - you are also interested in breeding one day. You've come to the right place to hone your husbandry and communication skills and become a valuable member of this community. Treat it as such, and it will take you far! :D
