just sayin hi!
I just found this site through Google imaging. I currently have three Balls :partyon: I mean three ball pythons and a very young Central American Boa. I will introduce them, On the left is Curt Cobain and the right is Freddie Murcury. (wife picked out the names:confused: )

Curt is about 4 years old and Freddie is about 3. They were both kinda rescued and I baught them from a friend who has a killer reptile store in Fairview Heights Ill.
I also have a 18 month old ball named Ringo:

As much as I love my balls :D This little guy is by far my favorite. This is Nickademus, my baby boa!

He sure looks tiny next to the pythons. We just moved so I haven't got a real good set-up for all the snakes yet. I still have to get some stands so they can be put in the living room. So far I only have Nicky in there.

He loves his cage too.

Re: just sayin hi!
Welcome! Nice looking babies! I noticed you said so far you only had the boa in his enclosure. Were you planning on housing more than one in there?
Looks like the balls are sharing an enclosure?

Re: just sayin hi!
Hey! Glad you joined the forums, its a bunch of great people who give out great advice.
The ball pythons don't share the enclosure do they?

Re: just sayin hi!
Yeah my balls share there tank. They have lived together for almost two years and get along great. I figured the boa would grow faster than he is so I think I'm gonna switch him and my baby ball around. The boa is in a 40 breader as are the two big balls( I just love saying that:D ) and my baby ball is in a 20 long. He is growing much faster than the boa so I think I'll switch them tonight. Here's Ringo's (baby ball) home.

Thanks for all the posative responces. This seems like a great place

Re: just sayin hi!
We would highly reccomend against housing multiple snakes together due to the difficulties it introduces in maintaining good husbandry. Potential cannibalism is probably something you wouldn't want to deal with either.

Were you meaning you planned on housing the boa with one (or more) of the BPs?

Re: just sayin hi!
Yes, it may look like they have been getting along, but snakes are solitary animals and don't need friends. Snakes get very stressed from not being in their own seperate tubs or tanks.

It is a great place with people passionate about educating people about balls and other herps and their care!
With that said - I'd personally leave Ringo where he is right now. Ball pythons don't need a lot of "leg room" so to speak - they actually thrive in a smaller, tighter enclosure, as in the wild, they spend most of their time crammed into burrows and termite mounds. A lot of extra space tends to stress them out.

No, I would never put a snake that small in with my big boys, they'd eat him in a heart beat.
I'm surprised to hear about housing more than one ball together though. I've been told it's o.k. as long as they are relatively the same size. I will definatly concider another tank though. I love my snakes and want what is best for them. Actually only one is mine. Curt and Nicky(boa) are my wife's and Freddie is my daughter's. Ringo is mine. My daughter is almost 12 and plans on being a Herpotologist when she grows up. She is already good friends with a volunteer at out St.Louis zoo and they E-mail regularly and My daughter brings her snakes to school for science class demonstrations with the zoo volunteer. She is not the average 12 year old girl. I am very proud of her and her love of animals! She also has a kick a$$ High Yellow Gecko named Zoink! as well as a guinie pig and two cats, to go along with our Great dane and Min Pin. Yes, we have a fricken zoo. We just recently gave our two bearded dragons to a friend because they were not getting along and I can only afford so many tanks and light set-ups!
