    In memory of Lorie.
I just found out that my cousin passed away today. She was only 36. Last winter, she underwent surgery and received a new heart. The surgery was a success, and her body accepted the new organ. I spoke to her after her surgery, and she sounded so good. We were all so relieved. Unfortunately, due to medical negligence her blood sugar level was not monitored for 7 hours, and she slipped into a coma on Christmas. She never woke up. She left behind a loving husband and three beautiful children. She was such a wonderful person, and she will be deeply missed. :tears:

Sorry. I really needed to let everyone know, so that they will go hug a family member and let them know how much they mean to you. You never know how long they will be in your lives. Be thankful for all the wonderful people in your life, and know that I am thankful to be a part of this wonderful community.

I'm sorry to hear that. R.I.P. Lorie.

Our roomate (who we consider family)'s nephew died today also.

I totally agree with your last paragraph . That's how I felt after hearing the news of my roomates nephew.

Too many times we get caught up in lifes daily rush. We tend to forget how fragile life is . We don't think that the person next to us may not be there tomorrow. Lets be thankful for all the people in our lives. Hope your memories of your cousin will always be happy ones.:)

I have a 7yr old great nephew that is going in this friday for his second heart operation. I wasnt going to go down to the hospital because I have this big phobia of hospitals but your post has changed my mind and I will be there to give him a great big hug before he goes in.

I'm so glad. You always think there will be time enough for everything, but there's just never enough.

Thank you everyone for the support. It means a lot to me.

I am really sorry about your loss. We had a little wakeup call today; actually went outside to look at our truck (that Mark and i got into the accident with.) he had been driving, and we hadn't realized the extent of the damage to the floor on his side; he came very close to losing his legs.
It is so true, how we sometimes take people for granted whom we love. You are so right, we need to just grab hold of our loved ones and hug them, be glad they are there.
