4-H Champion (My Daughter) BP Presentaion (DUW)

I may have mentioned my daughter winning 1st place for her 4-H presentation on Ball Pythons before, but today we found out she was actually Grand Champion for all of Douglas County, Colorado for all presentations.

Unfortunately the group she presented in "Pocket pets" does not have a state category. But I do not think it lessens her accomplisment of winning overall first place!!!!

She did this years presentation on Ball Pythons, care, basic genetics, and different morphs. She has been requested to present again next year, and she plans on a specialized presentation on Ball Python genetics and breeding.

I would like to give a special thanks to members of this site, because she obtained a lot of her knowledge from here. She really knows her stuff, now we just need her to come out of her shell and start posting here!!!!! PS, She is only 13.....

Thanks, and actually when she did the presentation she did not take any "morphs". She took her big male tuleo, and a small hatchling female.

What an amazing accomplishment! And an awesome way to show a lot of people that snakes can be great animals, not just some pest that needs to be destroyed on sight.

Thats awsome!! I am wanting to do some presentations on snakes at my school and local petsores.......I wish we had a decent 4-H around here that would be intrested in the Exotics.....Next year were onto Bioligy and FFA!!! CANT wait!!!

Thanks all, she did really good, I will try to get her to post to say thanks herself. She is just a little shy .... OK a lot shy, unless of course you put her in front of people to talk about her snakes aparently.


Her mother has now agreed to let her get another snake for Christmas. She has talked to Adam about a male Het Carmel ..... I just need to figure out how to convince her mother that I deserve something new too.

Thanks Mel, I will let Alyssa know. She did so awesome, I was really surprised that they were open to seeing something besides rabbits, hamsters, etc. They said she won becase she was able to answer every question so thoroughly. She even talked about hets, possible hets, and how to prove them out.

Congratulations! I did 4H forever growing up as well...it's a neat organization...and WOOHOOO for winning the country wide ribbon! Sucks that the state doesn't have that category - doh doh doh!

I think getting an 8-ball python sounds like a great reward! And I bet two snakes fit just fine in one of Adam's packing boxes /nod nod nod


I made a rabbit carrier for 4H one year that won the county ribbon and it went to state...where it get a red...=P...but it went to state! My mom still uses recipes out of the 4H cookbook for the cooking competitions, hehe. =)
