Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
I miss my snakes so I think I've been going a little pic crazy. I just got home and I was playing with Doorknob and the camera was just so necessary. LOL tell me what you think. Hope everyone is having a great week:)
loves his binky...

Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
I think he is so awesome! I am a cat lover, and he just takes the cake; now I have a question. Does he have fine hairs on him, or just comlpetely hairless? Just wondering..
I think I'll post pics of my guy inky..

Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
i love cats!
and although a hairless cat isnt my fancy...I think yours is kinda cute. I mean if mikey went hairless i would still love him so I guess cats with no hair just have to grow on ya..haha thats kinda funny:hmm:

Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
lol yeah, they definitely grow on you. it sure wasn't love at first sight. once you get to know him its hard not to love him. ginevive- yep, he has a thin layer of hair across his entire body, its been compared and i would agree, a warm peach.
he feels like this..

most people are a little weirded out when they first touch him, they either go "whoa...that's crazzyy" or pull their hand back and like kinda shake it, look at me, and go "wow, that's really weird". i love the reactions except i usually cross my fingers for positive since i'm sure doorknob would be offended.
thanks and i'll let him know how cute some people on bp.net think he is. he's not as good at english as you would think he would be though... lol i'm way too bored right now.

Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
I would think he's like the hairless rats; I used to have some, and they felt kinda weird till you got used to it.. that is so hysterical, a cat with a bink in his mouth!

Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
he's a sphynx kitten? are those naturally hairless or is he like a random hairless 'fluke'? I've always wanted a hairless cat but the only time ive ever seen any forsale so close were at 2k$.
JW.
I wouldnt mind a cat instead of a dog upon a few years of apt.dwelling..

Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
lol he's so protective of the binky at times. i'll go to pick it up and he'll bolt into a room and hide it. and shhhli, i believe they are a breed created from a naturally "fluke" and continued. i would think it is similar to bp morphs, same type of genetics and probabilities in recreating.

ahh i looked them up- so when someone refers to a sphynx they are referring to the hairless breed of cat- eep. i have a few questions- due to my allergies if i did get a cat i would prefer a hairless (more allergic to cats than dogs; least allergic to snakes LOL) I know dandruff is really the cause and not hair- but since reading the weekly bath suggestion to remove dirt/etc from the oils i assume this would help reduce the amount of 'dandruff'?
also- who did you get him from? do they have a site? and what did you pay/expect to pay?
sorry. i'm the ever curious even if what i want/dream of wanting is years and years out of reach!

Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
absolutely love the window shot. :) :sweeet:

Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
thank you blu:) and shhli, most people are allergic to a protein in their saliva which is spread by "dandruff and hair. if they lick you then you may have a reaction. the bath cuts down on it but i think meds for allergies is the best preventative measure. got him from a pet store in louisiana, was owned by a woman that got him from a breeder (not sure which one) but had to give him up for, i believe, housing issues so that's why he just fell into our laps. i believe most are around $1,200 but i'm sure the price varies either more or less.

That window shot is great!
Rusty
PS One came into a shelter I used to work at. I loved the way he felt. He was a big lap cat too, is your naked guy a lap kitty?

Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
I love Sphynx and the Rex cats, so adorable. What is his diet? You should get him a sweater, LoL, he would look awesome!
How old is he? Was he already neutered when you bought him or was he too young(Sorry, typical vet tech question... As I know "I" definitely prefer my house to NOT be sprayed, ew)?
-
Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
oooo devon rexs...love them too! he's about 14 weeks old. definitely needs a sweater, we got him an army vest type thing that looks ridiculously cute on him but he won't move in it, he freezes up and spreads his legs so i don't let my gf put it on usually lol. not neutered yet, thinking about it (not a fan of a cat spraying my place either), but i'm really tempted to get a female sphynx and have some beautiful sphynx kittens around the place.
-
Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
oh and his diet is dry kitten food always available, water always there, and wet food once a day unless he looks super cute and makes me have a change of heart, then sometimes a second. he's also notorious for eating anything (doritos, sunchips, pizza, popcorn, salad, eggs, etc) but i don't let him, he sneaks it or my gf feeds him a couple chips.

Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
I am going to fly to your place and kiss that cat :wuv:
I love them so much I cant stand it, right now though I have 3 "haired" cats.....I've already told them "once you guys pass on....were going hairless"
I so far have owned alot of hairless animals, but not that one. :sigh2:
Sheeshhhh he soooo cute, give him a smooch for me.
That is once thing I loved about my hairless rats, they would let you kiss them all the time...and they even would press there mouths to yours
So as you might have guessed when I found out I was pregnant in 04 yes, I was hoping for a bald baby lol. And sure enough she was really shiney bald, at 2 years old she still is bald lol. But her hair is starting to come in so dont worry I'm not waxing her head to keep her that way. *although*

Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
lol nice. how are hairless rats? definitely give him kisses and my gf does too, he always will lay in my arms and i'll say something like, "i love you" and i swear he knows what i said because he'll flip over and look at me upside down and often cuddle up closer. he's a pimp. definitely go hairless at some point. give that baby a kiss. babies are pretty cool too. lol take it easy!

Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
All of my hairless rats have passed away :(
But I still say they were my favorite pets, my one male reached well over 5 pounds....once he became a tubby we re-named him fat bastard...and yes I felt bad calling him that. lol.
They were really sweet and NEVER bit, the only time they did was when one of my cats kept pushing his face against there cage, which would cause the cats ears to poke through the wires, well I kept saying "one day that rat is going to grab your ear" sure enough!
I didnt notice though, I guess it happend while I was out, but I came home and one of my cats had a nice rat bite in the ear. That was 3 years ago and he still has to tip of his ear missing lol.
That rat got the best of him that day for sure.
But really they are sweet, I would take long wam baths with them. (I know how weird that sounds) lol.
I loved how they hold there food in there hands, so cute. They also have an insane sweet tooth, mine would walk on glass for cherries.
The only down side was having 2 males, dont mean to be gross but they had really big.... ya know. :P And that freaked a few people out on more then one occasion. But mama still loved them.
Cant wait to see more pictures of that naked guy.

Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
wow 5 lbs! that's fricking big...
it's weird how hairless rats sound so close to hairless cats in regards to their behavior. my gf takes baths sometimes with doorknob and he always stands on his back feet and uses his front paws to hold stuff. check out some more of the pics in my gallery, i have wayyy too many there lol need to add some bp or rtb pics to it to even it out, right now it's pretty sphynxed out.

Re: Going a little pic crazy (DU warning)
oh I know what you mean, I just realized I should add pictures of my furry pets, I'm sure they all feel like chopped liver. :P
Aww, I love the picture of him sitting dowl with his tail in a circle on his side. That's neat. I noticed he holds it like that in another picture, does he do that often?
