If your in the price range for Freedom Breeder or ARS...

    Look into Kreature Keeper. www.kreaturekeeper.com

They are Biggers and Calaham. The same company that owns Mice Direct, where I get all my rodents from.
Once I get bigger into the snake industry, Ill be using Kreature Keeper.

    ALSO,

Vision makes pretty good racks on the FB and ARS level. They are built cheaper though, being WAY cheaper. But till OK, but I dont like them, saw the new models today in Daytona and didnt like that a kid could run into it, and knock it over....

Are they heated? It says they are but then the pictures show slots cut in to add the heat tape.

This one is from Casey at Natures Spirits.

A custom one he made for me last year. Heated, tubs, an extra shelf, and a 2 inch base. It came ready to plug in and use for $230 shipped.
I got it in less than 3 weeks.

Here is a stack of 3 of the Natures Spirit racks.
The custom 4 shelf on the bottom and 2 of the standard 3 shelf ones on top of it.

The slots in the sides are to be used if you want set multiple racks side by side and run the heat tape through all of them.

Cheap is an interesting term when looking for somewhere where your snakes might spend 20 yrs. I am not saying NS racks arent good but I am saying there is something to be said for quality products.

    Re: Vision
The NS racks are pretty flimsy...they'll work, and I've got a rack similar to those in construction.....the rack only feels solid when all of the tubs are in it. Remove one tub to clean, and that shelf tends to bow a little bit without the tub there to support it. I don't see that rack lasting the test of time...it works for now, but will definitely upgrade later on as I expand.

AP racks are about the middle ground between the NS cages and the herpenclosures racks. They seem to hold up very well, but are still nowhere near as solid as the HE racks, and the AP racks can warp from time time.

I like the Herp Enclosures racks. Has anyone bought an economy rack from them? I'm talking about the biggest one they have.

i own several, baby racks, juvies and adult racks. i have visited their shop and seen them made in person. they are cnc routered to exact specs. the construction is good, the material is solid pvc, not expanded or controlled density like other makers. you can't truly compare, because no one else uses the same material.

i purchased other racks first, then had to spend more money on these later. if i had to do it again, i would have saved alot of money buying a high quality rack in the first place. so my advice would be to buy the best you can afford.

i think the price on 4 tub (41qt.) ball rack is $369.00, it comes with the heat tape ready to plug into a thermostat. it's best to call Rich and see if he has any specials going on.

I would save up some cash and go for the ARS 10 tub unit (about 1000 bucks)....I have one and it is super sturdy, tubs holds humidity well, great ventilation while maintaining temps, on casters so it is easily moved and my snakes thrive in it....

Well I'm not planning on keeping them in there for 20 yrs. Right now being in college and life in general unfortunately sets limits on what i can put into this hobby. I'm looking for an affordable rack that will let me expand my collection so that I can meet the plans and goals I've set for the future without setting myself back a few years while i raise my snakes to breeding ages/sizes. Another year of school and I'll have more money to play with but for the meantime cost is sadly an issue.

I actually think I'm going with a Rhino Raxx.

    Thanks for the input.

The guy who runs American Rodent Supply also builds fantastic racks, more like the freedom breeder style, but I can't remember the website for the racks offhand. I know at least one person here on the forums has bought one from him.

Anyway, I have 2 of the ball room racks from boaphile and they're great.
