is it safe to house a red tailed boa and a ball python in the same enclosure if it is pretty large?

NO! I wish I could find the pic that showed the ball that the red tail ate. This is a real bad idea.

That makes two of us;) .Do not keep your snakes together. You will stress them out and that is no good at all.Plus there is a snake disease called IBD that runs more in boas then pythons.I am not saying your snakes have this just letting you know about it.
It's not even a good think to house two balls together, let alone a red tail and Ball Python :O

Re: co-housing question
Even snakes of the SAME species should NOT be kept together other then when breeding them is desired. And that is a small period of time.
There are numerous threads on this topic. As already shown. It is a horrible practice!

Re: co-housing question
I wouldn't advise you to house them together. The red-tail boa is immune to different bacteria, viruses, etc. that the ball python is not and vice versa. They come from different continents and although their temp. requirements are close, boas do better with a more tropical humidity range as opposed to ball pythons, which can do well in a moderate (savanah)type humidity range. Stress is also a factor and plus, snakes are solitary.
