Help! My Bp thinks its an arrboreal hunter!
Well interesting feed night, seems Autumn and her multiple personality are at it again. First time I ever saw her do this, had to break out the camera.

Excuse the quality of the pics it was pretty dark in the room.

After stalking its prey this arrboreal species of bp strikes and coils around its prey, still remaining elegantly hanging from her branch.

After a few minutes she decided to soak her new found buddy in the pool...(wooo hooo hydration bonus!)

Wow I guess someone is playing rough in the pool.

    Everything alright in there?

    Ugh oh...guess not.

It was interesting watching her swallow this thing in such a weird position. Hope you enjoyed. The end. :colbert2:

LOL! I love the third shot, where you can see the two little feet on each side of her/his face. Good stuff.

What a great series of shots! We have some BP's in our collection that are pure ambush hunters, we have others that strike down from atop their hides, others that gleefully chase down their live prey and trap it in a corner before striking. Each to it's own. We did have one female back when she was a very small BP and we were feeding f/t that decided her lovely, warmed up and dry mouse was not worth it eating until it had been dunked in her water dish. No idea why...she started doing it one week...did it for 2 or 3 weekly feedings...then returned to her usual eating method. Perhaps it made her post-dinner drink of water that much yummier? LOL Snakes are just fascinating!

I know what you mean franky, seems like every month they develop some new qwerk when feeding. Then I gotta try all this different approaches that once worked but now don't and vice versa...they definetely keep you on your toes.

LOL they sure do. The same female of the once dunking f/t mice thing has this lovely issue about her live rat size. It must be exactly and I mean exactly the right size...not a hair too big nor a hair too small. I can eyeball exactly which one she'll take after all this time with her. The other snakes are a bit less picky but Miss Rionach (her name means "queenlike" funny eh?) will turn her snout up at any feeder that does not meet her rigid requirements. If she wasn't such a darn cute BP, I'd get frustrated with the spoiled bratling! LOL

Wow that's cute. Mine will eat anything, anytime, but they always just sit and wait then ease in a little for the attack. My BP would wait hours before going to get it at the other end of her tub.

Jo, I have an exact same girl. F/t or live doesn't matter....if it's not the EXACT right size of her liking, she doesn't want it......even if she were starving.
