Start looking everywhere in the immeadiate area of his enclosure. No place is too odd for a ball python on the run!

That ball is more interested in exploring then eating, a week is nothing for a ball python.

Snakes are the master escape artists, we've all had them get out.... if you haven;t, just wait... it will happen! So don't feel bad!

Being day time it may just of found a nice tight spot to hide, keep looking and you may get luckier when it gets dark. Leave the lights off for a while....

Do you have any flour? Some sprinkle it aroung the edges of the walls to see the tracks as the snake slithers thru. Then you just follow the track to the little bugger ;) .

I totally feel what you are going through. My little bubble gum corn escaped about a week ago. She is very shy so I am sure that she has found somewhere to curl up and hide, but I can't find where that is. She is about 2 feet long but fairly slender so she can fit into very small places. :(

Definately try looking with a flaslight at night. Look in dark small places. I've heard of snakes showing up in shoes, gym bags, under kitchen appliances where it is warmer, bathrooms, pretty much anything is fair game. I have also heard of snakes that have gone missing for weeks and even months and then randomly showing up again so don't give up hope yet!

Is there anyplace you may have missed? One of mine got out years ago and she was wedged underneath our sofa, in the frame; had to take it apart to get her out! (it was one of those recliner sofas.)
Tiny, tiny places are where you need to look..
I seriously wish you luck; I have had escapees back in the day, and I know that feeling you get.. remember we all make mistakes and I hope you find him.

How long have you had him and how often to you handle him? When my son's favourite (and first Cornsnake Kai) got out of her viv, my son turned his room upside down. I told him to look round about his bed. About 12 hours later, he finally decided to look under his bed...and there was Kai. My son has handled her frequently since the day he got her as a tiny baby so I figured she may well be where the scent of my son is quite strong. She was.

BPs are nocturnal so you could try putting some flour round about the edges of the room and across the door entrance so you can trace where he's gone.

Here's a link which gives lots of helpful tips on finding a lost snake.

Hope you find this helpful and I really hope you find your snake.

what worries me is its been bout 14 hours now, and all the doors in my two story house have big gaps under the doors. i do handle him quite frequently. but hes nowhere around the bed. im fixing to just leave a mouse in a plastic, ventilated container in the middle of the room because mondays are his feeding days. that website gave me some good ideas. wish me luck. ill be up all night.

i havent read the 2nd page of this so i dont know if hes been found yet but i wouldnt worry too much... more than likely hes within 10 feet of his enclosure and youll find him when you least expect it.... i searched every inch of every room for 2 days... when i finally took a break and sat on the couch mine crawled across my floor..

his tank is on my dresser with nothing but a few picture frames and buddha statues. im assuming he fell off the dresser which is a good 3 foot drop. around the dresser is another dresser, a garbage pail. my room also has a bed, tv and movie stand, a closet and a recliner. all have been searched.

Any dark spot is a good spot, I've found a small corn snake behind a picture hanging on the wall 6ft off the ground! So the message is the most unlikey places are you best places to look!

I searched a whole apartment once for a six ft boa.... found it the next day 2ft away from where it got out in between racks. It was under a 4 inch high gap between two racks that were stacked on top of each other. I forgot about that gap!

Is there a gap under the enclosure?

Well, if you have any walmart bags or crinkly similar bags.... lay them around the room. I have done that and been woken up by a snake loose crossing over a bag.... it makes a lot of noise.... might be worth trying.

Ok deep breath.. I know your worried and stressed. Sit in the middle of the room. Think warm, SMALL spaces. I found mine behind the computer soaking ou the heat from the fans. Try putting a heating pad on the floor on low over night and cover it with a hide. Do this in one the room he got out in first for a day. then go to the other rooms. I am so serious think SMALL they can get in places you can't even imagine. Good luck

Ummm... Don't stop looking. You're responsible for this animal, and I wouldn't stop looking, and relooking, until he's found. I know you must be extremely frustrated, and I do hope you find him.

Think snake. They are good climbers so dont just look on the ground. when mine got out he crawled up a chair on to the desk accross the night stand and down a stool before coming behind the computer.

Did you carefully check the recliner. They can and will get up inside furniture and coil into springs and so forth. We had to disentangle a 6 foot plus boa from the springs in the couch. He managed to stuff himself under the couch then find a small hole in the material, rip it open and in he went. What a gawd awful bit of work that was getting him back out.

Don't think dust would bother him as in the wild they live in a lot worse. The dust could work to your advantage though - you should be able to see a trail where he's been.

I know it won't make you feel any better, but I had a Mexican Black Kingsnake when I was younger, that got out of his cage one week before I went to boot camp. I couldn't find him at all. My Mom never did see him while I was gone, but when got home from boot camp, two days later I found him at the foot of the stairs. That was 13 weeks after he got out. I hope you find your buddy soon. Keep a sharp eye out, and you'll find him. Sending all my luck your way.
