WOW yet another thread on what type of bedding to use. People use newpaper and bed-a-beast and tons of other option. Might do a search on substrate or bedding. to see.

I use the bed-a-beast in my viv's it looks good and helps hold in the humidity. When I get my rack I will be using newspaper. Its easier to clean and more cost effetive.

when using newspaper, do u mean shredded or whole? so far i like the aspen, apep makes his own hides and it acts as a liter when he excretes. but its a pain to clean out the tank. with the reptile bedding all i have to do is lift it and rinse it with soap and water.

I use desert snow by T-Rex. It was what I first used and I've like it so really haven't tried anything else. Have thought about doing aspen every once and a while.

I have started using newspaper with a white-paper-towel layer on top to take away the look of, well, newspaper. I have added a few fake green plants (vines) and it actually looks nice and neat without having a loose substrate that hides urate/fecal matter even after you think you've cleaned it all out.

I prefer my mattress, it's not too firm or too saggy, just right. I also like two pillows, not those poofy soft inflated like ones, but ones that are well.... soft and firmish.

I use paper towel - several layers of it for the snake's comfort (OK my snakes are spoiled rotten:P ). Sometimes use the type with borders on - changes the look of the viv. Haven't heard the snakes complain yet;) :snake:
