Ideas for a name..?

I am getting this awesome girl from Cueball (for the whole story, click.. http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...t=32935&page=3

She arrives Tuesday! I am trying to think of a name for her; any ideas? So far I came up with Norma, or Tundra.
I would really like either a Native American or a mythical name.. your suggestions? Pics courtesy of Cue..

Athena - Greek goddess of wisdom and warfare

Freyja - Norse goddess of beauty

AHHH! that pic of her in the egg! Like a baby in a rocker!!! that is too sweet!

Well I got thinking she's a lovely gift from Cue so I looked up a bunch of names that mean "gift", here they are and their origins...

Zevida (hebrew), Adia (Swahili), Callidora (Greek - gift of beauty), Gytha (Old English), Isadora (Greek - gift of the moon)

I'm the worst for coming up with names, just ask Joanna how much I waffle! I've only had two that I was decisive on (Sierra and Sophie). However, I love your own idea of Tundra!

Wow! She is a beauty!! I love coming up with names for my animals. I too like mytholgical names or names of gods/goddesses and that is where I always start. Oddly enough though, I usually settle on something completely different. Sorry, I don't have suggestions any off the top of my head. If you do a search for the mythology for a particular culture you can usually get lists of all the different gods/goddesses and their purposes. I also look at constellations too, I think it is neat to take names that are in the stars :sunny:

The first thing that came to mind (when I saw that cute pic. of her in the egg) was Papoose. I think that is what Native Americans carried their babies in, on their backs. Like, a makeshift backpack thing.

Hm... I found this name, "Halona" on the Native American name site posted by Jo.. I kinda like it! Not set in stone yet..

Wow, that's a really cool site too; I just spent an hour learning about gods/godesses in addition to name hunting!
I kind of like Bastet.. Now what I guess I'll do is wait until she gets here and see what name she "falls into." :) I HATE waiting for snakes to get here ::going stir-crazy::

I love that site! I usually end up googling the dieties I find for more info, but there's a great abundance of fantastic names in there. Bastet is a great one, I love Egyptian names. :D And waiting is always the hardest part!
