Great pics! You got them in the right place.

I love that one of the fox. The bear and moose are great too. Is that your backyard? That would be so cool to see that, from the comfort of your house.

    :)

yeah, all those pics were taken from inside the house. we are very lucky where we live....lots of room and lots of big windows to enjoy the views.

I didn't get a pic of another bear when he came up on the deck and stood on its hind legs and put it's front paws on the plate glass window ... wish I had! I was so stunned by what I was seeing I was completely useless for about 10 minutes!

Wonderful photographs! Thanks so much for sharing them. The fox one is lovely, it's so nice to see one in such perfect shape. We used to get black bears in our yard after our deadfall apples. We'd always know one was around when our normally placid black lab went bonkers barking and growling at the door (needless to say we didn't let her out though).

You'd never seen a ground pig before Marsh? Guess I just figured coming from where I was raised that they are a pretty common creature LOL. We had the silly things all over and they are a real problem for farmers with hoof stock due to all the tunneling they do and the sad lack of natural predators.

my least favorite - and I don't have a pic of him yet - is the local porcupine. Big fellah. He chews on our house and cars! Drives me nuts. We pour ammonia on stuff to try to repel him but it only works a little.

Oh they can be so destructive. A porcupine in a willow tree will just strip it bare over time. I found this link for you. I don't know if this stuff works but it makes sense that laying down the scent of the porcupine's main predator might work. The only thing I'm unsure of is how it would smell to you as fox stink like skunks but it might be worth looking into.

Awesome pics! It'd definately be a novelty to me, to see a moose or a bear.. we have a lot of wildlife here by the farm, but usually the animals (deer, turkey, etc) do not venture too close to the house; groundhogs, fox and birds do though.
You know how to live, girl!

Having spent a lot of years in Northern Ontario, Canada let me tell you Gin you don't want to meet a male moose during the annual rut. They are simply crazy and probably the most dangerous animal in the bush during their mating season. It isn't even smart to stop your car and take pics of them as they are known to charge anything that annoys them even if it's your Pontiac Sunbird LOL.

Gorgeous big animals in an amazingly ugly regal sort of way. Not so much fun to see coming around a sharp corner in the road on a dark night but still it was a real pleasure to see them on a regular basis.

Wow; I will stick to your normal old whitetails; at least they run when they see you!

actually, whitetail deer kill more people per year than any other wild animal in the USA.
people think they're docile so they get close, and then the deer kick you into the next life.

....or run infront of a car and cause an accident.

....I think like 10,000 vehicle accidents per year are the result of deer running across the road.....
