    First ever clutch hatched!
Good morning everyone. I'm relatively new to the forum - I've been reading your posts for a few weeks and have only respondeed once or twice because I wanted to get a feel for the group. I am very impressed with this community. Having lurked :lurk: on several forums I must say you're welcoming, informative, and a lot more accepting of dumb questions than many others. I don't like the drama so I have not gone back to a few forums I tried out. Thanks for creating and maintaining a "safe Place" for newbies.

Well, after 76 days my fist ever clutch hatched Monday and yesterday. http://snakebytesforum.com/forum/Smi...fault/danc.gif

I had 6 eggs from my beautiful albino male I purchased from Chris Bianco and an albino het girl I got from Brian Sharp. This clutch was maternally incubated for the first 60 days because the Natures Spirit incubator that I ordered hadn't arrived before they hit the ground. I left them with mom for 60 days - she stayed with them every day. I never saw her unwrap from around the eggs, even to go get a drink of water. When the eggs hadn't begun to dimple after 60 days I pulled the eggs and put them in my incubator. About ten days later they started to dimple so we cut the eggs slightly (I was too afraid to cut much). I was sure I had screwed up big time by leaving them with mom and then moving them, but all the eggs still looked viable when we cut them.

Well, finally on Monday I began seeing little heads peek out. What a thrill! They were all out by last night. The results were 2.2 high contrast albinos and .2 100% het albinos. The ball pythons gods were smiling on us with this one.

I saw the smoke, this must be the fire- They're totally hott. Because, babies can be described as hot. See incredulous and sizzling.

Seriously though, baby balls are a weak spot for me, and they're just soo cute! *endless babytalk*
Love one with his head pokin out(2) :D

    Hi Alice...

Congratulations! Those are VERY nice Albinos! I remember my first Ball Python clutch that hatched... I also remember my first Albino Ball that hatched. These two events were about 6 years apart from one another. You are lucky to see such gems in that first special clutch.

A lot like my friend Albey... first clutch had Super Pastels!

    You guys sure are lucky!!

Take care of those little guys... try not to keep them all!

    Re: First ever clutch hatched!
Thanks again everyone. I've started to calm down a little bit now. It's probably good that I work during the day or I'd be in the snake room peeking into their tubs every few minutes. They are soooo cute.
I've got 2 more clutches on the ground; both from a blond pastel:normal breeding. We've been raising our balls for about 2 1/2 years now. It takes a long time before those females are ready as you all know. I know I could have bought larger females at the start but I figured I'd learn alot more by raising some up to breeding size. I was impatient along the way but the waiting is starting to pay off. I still considered myself a newbie becuase this is my first clutch. So much to learn about this business/hobby. :rolleye2:

Sean, I am having the hardest time even considering selling any of these babies. Can't sell the first one out, that's our very first albino baby. Can't sell the first 100% het female - that's our first het and she is very pretty. Can't sell the second albino out of the egg because it has such cool looking dots down its back. And so forth and so on. Please tell me I'll get over this so I don't end up with hundreds of snakes, unwilling to part with any of them.

    Re: First ever clutch hatched!
Congrats on a great clutch and great odds Alice. You'll eventually get over wanting to keep them all, but on the flip side, their is nothing wrong with keeping everything. So what if you end uo with 1,000 snakes, they make great friends, and mine will listen to my ranting for hours.
    Congrats Again,
