Well
I went to check on the eggs to see if anything has changed and to see how a green spot was doing on an egg and I noticed something.

Re: Well
Congrats that is the first pic I ever seen of a lil one making his/ her way into the world. My Dad's boa we used to have when I was little had 22 live babies and I missed that too when it happened. Hopefully when I get better I can look into breeding Bratty she has already went through one mating season, and I didn't breed her. Looking for a good male to breed her with.

Re: Well
Have the rest of the eggs pipped yet? If not you might want to cut a small slit in them.Your choice on this ;)
-
Re: Well
nope, no others have pipped yet. I cut 2 of the eggs after talking to Bob clark for a while about it. One of the eggs thats left has gone bad, and now im down to 3 left and the 2 I cut have an alive snake in them. I cut one yesterday and one today. How long should they remain in the eggs after I cut?

Sorry to hear about another egg lost. When my babies pip the eggs they can stay in them for a couple days at least. They have to tease you even more :P .

Re: Well
Oh she's lovely Aric! Congrats on the little female (you should call her Eve...first female and all that LOL). Sorry about the lost egg but two more babies alive in their eggs is good news!
-
Re: Well
thanks, one of the babies I can see in the egg doesnt look fully developed yet or might have something going on with its pattern.

Aric, dont think the worst yet it might just be a crazy pattern.I hope its just a crazy pattern as we have had way to many bad stories lately:( .I know its part of life but gee enough is enough. We need positive things or else some newbies might give up wanting ball pythons, thinking everything bad happens to ball pythons.Keep us posted

Re: Well
How exciting; what a beauty-full little hatchling there. :)
I hope those others get out soon and stop keeping you waiting.

Re: Well
thanks Joe and Jen, I went ahead and cut the last egg today and I dont really know if that one is alive. When I cut the other eggs the "yolk" was runny and looked ok but the last one I cut doesnt have much "yolk" and the "yolk" thats left is really sticky and there are veins but they are all black. The other 2 keep switching positions throughout the day but neither have poked their heads out yet.

Aric, when you cut the eggs you will get a little runny slime like stuff. The last egg might have absorbed his yolk allready. When you touch them do the babies move(wondering about the last two you cut today) around?
-
Re: Well
The one I cut today didnt move, maybe I should use a q-tip and touch him with that to see if he moves. The other 2 have alot of slime and ALOT or nice big red veins but the one I cut today has no slime (I figured it absorbed it) but the veins I can see are black and look dired up.

Hmmm, yea touch them to see if anyone moves.

Re: Well
I used a q-tip and the 2 I cut yesterday and the day before moved but the one I cut today didnt seem to move any at all. Its been 66 days, they must be going for the record lol

Re: Well
Nice looking male Aric,it looks like he almost wanted to be a striper lol.

Re: Well
Aric,
That little male looks awesome. I love his side pattern. Take some more pics of him after he sheds.
Congrats,

Re: Well
thanks all, the last one left the egg this morning and its a female, so the total count is 1 male and 2 females. Atleast I got my females. I think this one wanted to be a striper also.
