man those are awesome too!!
most of the ones in the middle are my favorites, the egyptians, the egg eaters, the dog tooth cats, the diadem racer, file snake, and that green cat is awesome.

WOW, amazing collection! I adore Asian rats! Some of those I've heard are very challenging to keep too! Are the radiated, stinking goddess, and mangroves as fiesty as their reputations claim?

What could be better....a quiet Sunday morning, the youngest child still snoozing, a cup of hot coffee and these snake pics! Thank you so much Charles for posting this wonderful group. I can't even begin to choose a favorite though that Silver Mangrove does jump off the screen at me and the look in the eyes of that Stinking Goddess is perfect! (what a name for a snake LOL).
Couple of questions here. Does the Stinking Goddess put out a bad smell (musk) to earn that rather strange name? I've heard/seen on TV that egg eaters have oddly shaped ribs that help break the shell of the eggs they eat then they regurge the shell part. Is this correct?

I'll second that. Those snakes just shine with good health and condition. You must take very good care of them as they are all just lovely.

My pic's are the bamboo rat snake and the silver mangrove racer great exibit of pic's Charles.
Re: the limey's photo thread - no dial up - lots of pictures.
the stinkers were captive bred and as a result dont not musk freely. to be honest i find it more noticable on young american rats than on young stinkers. yellow rats stink as babies.wow - run away from the stench.
with regards to dasypeltis i believe they have spevialised hooks on the inside of their vertibrae which act like a saw blade helping to crack the shell.
