man, cassandra you must be pretty far inland.

it was unbearably hot today, but I am sure I was in paradise compared to you folks in 116+ weather.

right now i got the fan running (at 1 am) running up my 'elastic-trickery' bill LOL

My fan died at about 8 this morning, so I woke up in a puddle... ICK. My room's so hot. We only have an air conditioner for the living room, and I have to keep my door closed so the cat doesn't get out. Needless to say, we keep each other company in our miserable-ness.

The only times I've been venturing outside in this is when I have to mow, or when I'm getting in the pool.

Meh. No matter what, I MISS Texas. It'll be 109F in Texas, and you can do pretty well. It's 90F in Virginia, and you're gasping to breathe because of all of the humidity.

It's pretty decent here in Toledo, OH today but it's been crazy hot and humid here for the past couple of weeks. I've become a housework vampire doing all my usual chorest between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. (yes vacuuming at midnight is sooooooo much fun! ) I've had to watch Mikey closely. He's thrown up twice from the heat. He and Bethie for some reason get heat exhaustion very quickly. I do too so I guess they get that from me. The other two kids, even Luke the redhead, don't have such troubles with the heat.

It "only" hit 97 here yesterday. Keep in mind that the old record for that day was 77 set in 1964. :omfg:

the humidity sure does make a huge difference. when i first moved here (british columbia) from alberta... i couldn't believe the way the humid cold goes right to your bones and the humid hot is thick (and rich and chocolate... so you can't drink it slow... oh no) LOL

it's not even cooling here at night... which is awful... i'd love a nice cool night!

we moved the cresties down to the basement today...

When we spent a year up in the Yukon it got so cold but because it was so dry we'd be out skiing and so forth in it. As long as you covered up well to avoid frost bite it was just lovely. I hate that damp cold....goes right to your bones (omg I so sound like my granny! ACK!) :grandma:
