    Feeding Question
Can you feed a Bearded Dragon those Can O' Crickets, if you have a vibrating dish, like this one?

Yes you can.... but I personally have not had any luck with either of my dragons eating thise, they are often times slimey and smell horrid. Why would you want to do that rather than offering live prey?

I don't mind feeding live prey, I was just wondering, because it would make things easier. How about stunning them in the freezer, so they could still walk, but can't move too fast?

Cricket Keepers work fine if you need to keep a bunch of them around and alive for a few days. What do you mean "they keep getting away?" I buy mine at the pet-store...they come in a plastic bag filled with air...I bring the bag home and just dump them into the tank. Shaggy (the beardie) takes care of the rest. LOL Never had an escape.

If the prey getting away is the issue, why not pull thier back legs off and throw them in a bowl...

But if I need 1000 crickets, that way I don't go to the petstore everyday, I can't just dump them in there.

In that case, a Cricket Keeper will work for you. I had to use one when Shaggy was a baby because he needed crix every day....and I certainly wasn't about to drive to the store every day. But now he only needs them once a week and I have to go buy rodents anyhow, so I pick up "one serving" of crix as a treat for him each week.

If you're gonna have lots of crickets staying for more than just one meal....I imagine you're gonna have escapes from time to time. But I hated having them around for more than a couple days because they stink like crazy.

A crix keeper wont hold that many crix, I dont even reccommend keeping more than 100 at a time in a large keeper, and even then, you are asking for issues.

If you intend on keeping crix around, esp. that many, get a rubber maid like I did and screen off the top.... and you have a giant crix keeper that cost you less and can house alot more.

    Re: Feeding Question
cricket keepers wont hold 1000 crickets they only hold about 30. you can get the cricket keeper that will hold 150 though. i keep 500 crikets in an old 20L. it could house more though, maybe 2000.

do you have any extra tanks around? you could also use a tub or a garbage can to house crickets. you wouldnt need a lid if the walls are steep enough because crickets cant climb.

i dont know if it's high enough. everytime you open it the crickets will have the chance to get out.

what you could do is get a 30 or so gallon garbage can. their perfect for housing crickets in; steep, slick walls that crickets cant climb up. you could definitely put a 1000 in one of those.
