My Borneo
Hi, I am brand new to the forum, and I thought I'd start with posting photos of a few of my animals in the corresponding forums...
This is my female Borneo I aquired about 6 months ago, photo taken not too long after I brought her home, and she has gained a bit of weight since:

I would love to find her a mate sometime. :)

Re: My Borneo
Beautiful girl, and :welcome: to the site.

Re: My Borneo
Gorgeous! I love bloods, especially after rescuing that poor little male a few months ago. I hope to have one someday. How's her temperment? Cranky like most or did you manage to get a nice girl?

Re: My Borneo
I really don't handle her much, only once a week or so to take her out to feed her and clean her cage, and every time she's ready to eat, so I really couldn't tell you her temperment either way. She seems fine out of her cage, though.

Nice shot - she's a cutie. And of course welcome to the forums!
About how long is she?

Re: My Borneo
Very beautiful....I LOVE BLOODS. I just bought a male yellow blood from Kara at NERD. I got him last Saturday. I can't wait to start handeling him. I also have a black blood, I love her(?not sexed yet?) to death. I can't seem to put her down. I hate feeding time, that mean I have to leave her alone for a few days.
Do you know how old yours is??
-
Re: My Borneo
I know she is over 3 feet but I haven't measured her yet... I will have to do so sometime soon. I am not aware of her age, I bought her about 6 months or so ago and she was already a pretty good size. :)

Re: My Borneo
Welcome aboard! :handshake: That is a GORGEOUS Blood!!

Re: My Borneo

Re: My Borneo
Yeah her face is what won me... she has really nice colors around her eyes, fading from red all the way to specks of white. :) I will try to get some updated pictures of her soon. Right now I am struggling a bit with keeping the humidity at the right level. For a while I could tell by her eyecaps and scales that it was too dry, but since then I have been keeping it considerably more humid in her tank, and I am hoping her next shed will be a good clean one. I think I will also be moving her into a larger tank very soon.

Re: My Borneo
what do you have her housed in? I switched from a regular glass aquarium to a rubbermaid. It really works wonders in keeping the humidity! They even have semi clear ones, where you can still see through it!

Re: My Borneo
If I switched to rubbermaid, what kindof heat sources could I use?

Flexwatt and a T-stat work great.
-
Re: My Borneo
Where would I get this Flexwatt, and would I just arrange it under the tub? As of now, all the heating experience I have consists of under tank heaters installed on glass aquariums.
-
Re: My Borneo
Flexwatt is just another type of under the tank heating. It's very thin, and needs to be controlled with a thermostat. If you have under the tank heaters, you can use them with the tub. Again the emphasis on the thermostat or even a dimmer to control those temps. :gj:

Re: My Borneo
I think I really just need to invest in making a rack system for most of my collection, so they can at least all have their own enclosures. Until recently I didn't realize it was such a bad idea to keep even same species of snakes together, but I don't have room for each of them to have an aquarium.

Re: My Borneo
I am using a under the tank heater from Petco. I think its a ZooMed. The Rubbermaids are soo inexpensive, you could pick one up and use your current UTH. I still perfer the look of Glass aquariums, and that was fine for me at first. But now I keep wanting to add to my collection, so r-maids are the best bet for me in the future.

Re: My Borneo
I will probably (hopefully) be switching to a rack system in the near future.
