Scam ALERT .... and an Update on my Mom

Some of you may remember that the same day Kisasa arrived, back in March...I recieved a call from my Mom telling me she'd been diagnosed with breast cancer. Well...the good news first!

She has just finished up 7 weeks of daily radiation treatments and is all done with all treatments, except for those regular check-ups all cancer patients have to go through. She's feeling surprisingly good...much much better than she thought she'd be by the end of treatment. Some specific genetic tests they ran show that she has a very low likelihood of recurrance! :banana:

But there was a completely unexpected "bump" in the road of her treatment. For a couple of weeks about half-way through, she was feeling very icky and despressed. (No surprise, given what she was going through at the time!) She got a phone call from a business called "Bright Builders".....and because they were "very sweet and attentive".....she got suckered into what they were selling.

What they were selling was a "Get Rich on Ebay" scam. All in all, my Mom is out $7000 because a bunch of :cens0r: took advantage of her when she was sick.

Anyhow...if you ever wonder if any of those "Get Rich selling on Ebay" businesses are legit...they're not. They don't have any information to give you that you can't find for FREE on Ebay itself. And if you ever run across a business called "Bright Builders"....run away.....fast. :mad:

My brother is currently working to see if he can get any or all of Mom's money back. He's very smart and knows how to throw his weight around when he needs to....so I'm hoping he can pull it off.

Just wanted to share....thanks for letting me get that off my chest....and most especially, thanks for all the prayers and concern about my Mom back in March!!

and karma is a b----, you can run but you can't hide... they'll get theirs!

Judy, that's just terrible that your mom got taken advantage of that way! May those people get a raging case of (edited for family content). On the upside, I'm so pleased to read how well your mom came through her treatment and how bright her future is. Those are blessing no money can buy.

I third or fourth the karma thing, what goes around comes around! Scammers always get theirs in the end.

Scammer's will burn in the 7th circle of hell for praying on the week. Or be reincarnated as feeder rats, and not the spoiled breeder kind the food for snakes kind.

Well I wasn't here back in March, and haven't been here very long, but having lost a parent to cancer, I can say with all my heart that I am thrilled that your mom has recovered! I know you will cherish every day with her :D

Judy,first off give your mom a hug from a fellow cancer patient :grouphug: .Second if there is anything i can do to help your mom deal with the concerns of dealing with the stress let me know.I would be willing to either speak to her thru the emails or phone,just pm and i will give you my info.Even though my cancer(i hate this word :mad: ) was another type its still the same stress.If there is something that i can also assist with getting your mom her money back from these scamming scum give me a yell.

Joe...thank you very much for your offer. Unfortunately, we're not strangers to the ravages and stresses of cancer. My husband is a survivor as well, and my Mom's sister died of cancer. Just a few, short years ago, I lived a life untouched by cancer....now it seems everywhere. Scarey sometimes....but at least the treatments for it are becoming more and more successful with each passing year. I'm now a volunteer with Team In Training, which is a fundraising organization for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Our family was like yours Judy, untouched by the awful C word. Then we lost both my mother and my brother-in-law to cancer within a few short months of each other. It was a terrible time.

I'm so very glad your mother and your husband have both come through it. What a blessing!

I was like yourself until Feb 2001.I had heard of the "c" word but never knew anyone with it.Now its a everyday word.My offer still stands if you or anyone needs a extra person to chat with i am here.

Congratulations to your Mom!! :D Im sure your family is very releived! I cant imagine the fear and the anxiety you and your family must have gone through..

What a bunch of slimeballs for scamming her!!! That really makes me MAD! I get emails all the time for those work at home and make big money working for EBAY scams...Personally, EBAY should be ashamed they are allowing THEIR name to be associated with such scams. (har har)
I really hope your mom is able to get her money back, the LAST thing she should be worrying about is some idiots who scammed money!
