    Seriously Need Some Help
I've put myself into a huge pickle. I've got my three balls, which was fine and dandy until I found out I had to find another place to live. (Parents are moving to Fairfax, I want to stay and finish off my stay at VCU). Anyways...I thought I'd found an apartment. I thought, hey! Three hundred a month plus possibly a little more for utilities. Hoorah! Come to find out that the one girl who is NEVER HOME doesn't want the kids there. -Mutters.-

If there's any advice you can give me, possibly on how to talk to her, anyone you might know who's looking for a roommate, etc. I'm just lost, and I don't want to lose my babies. I love them too much. Mom's willing to take Ophelia, but refuses to take Ody and Hadrian. I've invested too much in them to just let them go.

    HELP!

He can't take them because he lives with his parents. I've already asked, and he won't even talk to them. -Mutters.-

I guess I might be posting an ad here soon. Mom's taking Ophelia, so it's just the two males. A het albino male and a normal male. Hadrian (the het) is almost as large as Ophelia (1300 grams) and Ody's approximately 350 grams.

Mel....good luck with that. There's a bunch of BP.netters in your area, so maybe you can find someone to foster them for you until you can get yourself in a better situation?

Have you tried telling the roomie that you will keep them secured in your room only, maybe show a picture of the setup? Introduce them to her? Anything to try to convert her?

Offer to not only show secure caging but to put a lock on your bedroom door so in the remote chance a snake gets loose it cannot exit that room.

 Be very, very careful how you would promise something like this...or the poor girl will have nightmares about snakes being able to open doors if they're not locked! :P

Well, I'm going to talk to the landlord about this. The young girl who doesn't want them had THREE WEEKS to contact me. The other young girl seemed to be excited about me moving in. I just don't get it. Maybe I'm naive. I've spent the last hour crying.

I did, however, talk to a worker at Noah's Pets. An older woman with a son who'd be interested in buying Hadrian and taking Odysseus. I just don't want to let them go. They're like my own KIDS.

They've never gotten out, they're not vicious, mean, vindictive animals. They're good kids. I just don't understand...

Mel, I know who you are talking about at Noah's. Her son has been "saying" he's going to take (for free) my ph albino male for about a year now. So I wouldn't let that be your only plan.

If the landlord says snakes are ok, technically your new roommate can't do much except relocate themselves if they have a huge problem with it. I just moved. My new roommates were not particularly thrilled with snakes at first- now they come watch "feeding night" and go ballistic watching the show.

couldent you just hide them from your room mate. like get those under the bed rubermade containers. its not like balls make a lot of noise. that is what i would do. in the new appt would you have your own room. when she is gone just sneek them in. its not like she is going to do room inspections. just make sure you keep your door closed. then if she did find out you could throw a fit about her breaking and entering. LOL

My roommate tried to tell me that apartments considered snakes as pets and I couldnt have Junior..so I went around her and called the apartments, and they don't even consider snakes as pets, because they don't destroy anything!

Honestly, your roomate has no say about your pets. If your place allows it, take your kids! What is she going to do? If she is scared of them, she will not go near them. If your paying rent, you have just as much right to what goes in your bedroom as she does! If you don't like her bedroom decor, are you not going to allow her to have it (thats the best parallel I have :P )?

    Good luck with everything!

Things might be looking up for my three kids and I. Daniel, who's a member of this forum (Demarco Angel...or something like that), and I are going to probably be moving in with each other. We found a decently-price two-bedroom/one-bath apartment approximately two blocks away from VCU. The living room's spacious and the bedrooms are adequate in size. We spoke to the landlord and she doesn't care as long as they don't get out. (Uh...duh?!) So I think we've gotten things pretty well figured out.

It'll be nice to be living with someone who loves these reptiles JUST as much as I do. Daniel's got three male balls, two rose-haired T's, a beardie, and soon two BCIs. Eight snakes, one beardie, two t's and Daniel and I. Woohoo! Life's gettin' better.

Judy, now you can say that you know someone who has accomplished that. My mother-in-law hated snakes, even after we got them. Two years ago, we bought a runt, 40 gram Het axanthic female. Well, needless to say, my mother-in-law loved her because she was so tiny. Two weeks ago, she said she wanted one of her babies, that will hopefully hatch nest year. Mission accomplished.

I checked on him briefly as I was bouncing through the bathroom. Daniel's got a decent set-up in that glass viv. Two hides, nice-sized water bowl. I know that between the two of us, our kids will be well-taken-care-of. Kiros is getting bigger and the new boy seems to be doing well. I definitely had to check on my big boy Rex, though. -Melt.- He's such a killer beardie. He's got this fierce, "I'm-the-:cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r:" look in his eyes. Makes his name mean so much more...

I just wanted to update everyone on what was going on. I found a place a couple blocks away from campus(VCU) with two other girls. They're more than happy with the all three of my kids! It's a second floor apartment, I'll have my own room with the kids, and the entire place, encluding utilities in below $400! I'm so happy. I've got my paperwork in. The landlord is from Texas, so we chatted for a little. Everything's working out the way it ought to...FINALLY!

Thank you for all of your support.

O_O Well, Natalie's twenty-three and Ashley's nineteen. Hn. I'll be twenty on the nineteenth of August. (One more year)! Strange that you'd mention that. Justin said something similar.
