    Font color/size
Ok..Who here believe font color and size should be standardized on the site. I know that certain font colors like red, yellow and pink hurt my eyes. Come on people! Speak up or else!

Absolutely, all the flashy things and bright colors make me skip peoples posts. Make it simple and easy to read people!!!! :)

Holy crap. That is the most painful thing ever...

We need a theme that makes the site look business like for when the boss walks by!

I definitely prefer the more muted colors. The others make my eyes cross, and it's almost impossible to read. Foolery completely freaked me out !!!

I think its something that should be standardized to preserve to "mood" around here. All kinds of pink font and excessive use of emoticons make the site look like a 12 y/o girl's myspace page.

:bubbles: OMG LoOK aT My CoOOoL nEW FoNT CoLoRS ROTFLMAO! :D

I switched to "Foolery" and went into shock. It took me 5 minutes to get it switched back, I think it made my eyes cross. :rolleye2:

Here's the technical problem with that proposal:

If you were to force text as black, for example - dark themes are moot and can't be used, etc.

(Also the predicted hew and cry of the site becoming repressive and stepping on peoples ability to use those features they have become used to would be fairly emphatic at the least)

Forgot to mention though that you can turn off things like signatures and avatars in your user control panel - which may help make it look less hectic if you have the boss's eyes hovering nearby.

quit making me go to dictionary.com to understand your posts.

Why not just get rid of the "annoying" colors on the pallet?

    Dictionary.com won't hurt you.

Unfortunately I don't think the colors can be picked out like that.

Personally, I think plenty will be accomplished just by having this thread. It will serve to remind people that sometimes their choices of text color and/or font will not always fit other people's theme choices, personal taste or eyesight abilities.

If they choose to continue to post with unique colors and textures, that is their option. They are now aware that some people may not be reading their words. Up to them if they care or not.

It is quite surprising to me that anyone who already feels weighted down by all the "rules" around here would want something so stifling to be added to our list of regulations. Personally I keep quite busy enough enforcing such rules as we already have, and have no desire to add more.

NOW....if you want a new theme that looks more "business like"...please define that for me within the confines of the structure we already have, and I'd be thrilled to whip one up for ya!

I dunno, I don't want to offend people or cause them not to read what I post. I've always used pink font on every forum I've been on, it's kind of my signature thing. But if it's really bothering people, I shouldn't. :(

Why do you care? This is the internet ... nothing is real here ... you don't know these people and will most likely never ever meet them in real life ... do what makes YOU happy and give a big long middle finger (with a finger nail painted pink) to ANYONE that doesn't like what makes YOU happy!

ROCK ON with your bad self and tell everyone else to get the flock out of your way! ;)

I dont have a problem with most of the odd colors, but if they are just too bad on my eyes, I skip over them... but the deep pink is fine with me actually, I kinda think it is cute.

I dont want the ability to have a "choice" for everyones tastes/personality, etc to be taken away.. just leave it be.

Hmm, the site that dont wear pants... interesting to say the least! :O

Frankly, I dont even mind the smileys either... it gives you a sort of visual as to the persons tone or mood that we would not have otherwise...

I love pink...my license plate is PNK LPRD, everything we bought for our daughter is pink, and my husband and I compromised on a pink and black bedroom theme. I think 60% of my clothes are pink too. ;)
