Wow!! :O You have some smokin' hot BP's there! I can't believe your first snake ever was such a wickedly striped BP! Congrats on all those beauties!!

You have some nice looking balls Jen, that petco find is a great find. I really like the look of Misty too! :)

Spoon is absolutely awesome...sweet as can be, very gentle and calm, totally not head shy or nervous at all, loves to be out and about, is really curious and likes to explore stuff...he's perfectly content staying on the couch with me or around my neck.

Jen, you've got some serious hotties there! =D

I really like the speckling in the 'alien heads' on Bob. Gives him a very distinct look.

Yep, he was an adult when I got him over 2 years ago. He was CBB in '98, so he's 8 years old now. I got him from Al Guetzkow @ NEWReptiles. I had actually been looking for an albino on Fauna but was a complete noob and had NO clue about the market and prices, and I almost fell for some international scam. Al swooped in, talked some sense into me, and offered me this guy. He held him for 2 months while I saved up the $150 for him (I was 19, on my own, having my paycheck eaten up by rent, car payments, and car insurance...lol!), then he drove him 2 hours down to Madison to bring him to me. :)

Honestly, it was a random thought and I had always thought Spoon would make a cool name for something...and since he was so curious and goofy, it fit. Misty is the girl I picked up to be his "woman" and I almost named her Fork...that way I could keep two of their babies and name them Fpoon and Spork. lol!

I know, it's crazy! I didn't think males got that big...but they've had a few years to put the weight on, so it makes sense. Java is 11 years old, and he's the biggest. His neck and his head are really wide, he's a beefcake. LOL!

Are you SURE Java is a boy? LOL! One of our long-time members, Ginevive, has a really big boy named Goblin...we've been admiring him around here for a couple years now.....and last month, Goblin laid eggs!!! (There's a fun thread around here about that...I'll have to go find it!)

Our biggest male is a little over 1800 grams and he looks like huge to me. How long is Java?

He's just over 4 feet long and about as wide as a dollar bill.

He was sold to me as a male, and the guy that sold him to me said he was bred this year to a female that is now gravid...but hey, if he turned out to be female, I wouldn't complain. ;)

Well, male or female, he sure is purdy!!

That's the reason I bought him, I fell in love with his colors and pattern. Plus the guy said he had a sweet personality since he was an older snake, and I had been hoping to find another good pet like Spoon. <3 He said Java was sold to him as a 66% possible het albino, but there was no paperwork, so oh well. :P

i never get sick of seeing your "gang".

Im pretty sure in a few years if I saw you guys rollin deep in my hood i'd be pretty scared. lol!

Of course! If I had more money, that's probably all my collection would consist of...every different kind of stripe I could find. ;)

Neil, I figure ball pythons are just like we are...some are naturally more slender and some are heavier-bodied. Feeding plays a role in their adult size, but I would think so would a genetic predisposition to being larger.

I need to use that excuse...:D

Do you like the genetic stripes?

Oddly enough...not as much as random stripes out there. I think it's because they're somewhat boring to me -- no pattern or real color variation. They're kind of blah. I'd still like to own one someday, but I'd prefer a pied or something over it.

Now Jared's super stripe...*drool*

I found a really odd genetic stripe on the Exotics by Nature website...the stripe was broken up and imperfect. I liked that one, it was cool.

Much like pieds, genetic stripes are HIGHLY variable ... some are perfectly striped from neck to tail, others have varying degrees of "brokeness" in their striping ... it's a good thing for the market actually.

I'm obviously partial to complete stripes ;) ...

He is, I really lucked out with him. He has a belly full of rat right now, otherwise he'd probably be out with us. He's one of the ones that would much rather be out and about than in his enclosure. :)

Adam gorgeous G-stripe! I'm a sucker for weird ones, oddballs, aberrants, ones with deformities or ones that other people wouldn't want. It's a big soft spot. <3

Awesome collection :) My favorite is the little Petco specimen; I am just nuts for reduced/bandeds. All of them look exceptionally healthy and purty.

Sahara's gone, I shipped her out tonight. I feel bad, I really liked her and fell for her the minute I saw her picture. She was just SO fiesty and nervous and didn't want to eat anything at all. I only got her to take one live black mouse for me. She went to someone who's better equipped for getting her to eat, plus he had a gorgeous male that looked just like her so she's got a great mate for this fall. Oh well. :(

Misty is in my opinion the queen of your collection.Very nice great size on all of them.

Misty is incredible, no picture I've taken can truly capture what she looks like. The one I got outside in the sun yesterday is about the closest I'll get. Her side blotches have neon yellow coming up from the belly, almost like someone colored on her with a highlighter. Her background is jet black and her yellow markings and stripe just glow. She has these cute little bug eyes and an adorable little face. The second I saw her ad on KS, I knew I had to have her and was just about shaking when I was writing Rich the e-mail. I had been looking for a striped girlfriend for Spoon for years and none of the ones I'd found were what I wanted...until she came along.

Now if she was just eat for me. To me it's weird that she's not eating since she's CBB and 3 years old...she's just really picky and only wants live mice, but only wants them when she feels like it. I've had her over a month now and she hasn't taken anything yet. Oh well, no biggie, she isn't losing much weight so I'm not worried.

I wish I could have a collection like that, but my roommate is terrified of snakes (she is cool with one, but i thing she would have an anxiety attack if I had any more! Keeps her out of my room though ;) )
