    DaVinci Pied
Has anyone seen this? I don't know how long the ad will last - so hopefully enough people can see it.

I love the markings - but I'm unclear if it's just an interesting pattern in a pied - or a "new line" so to speak.

Anyone heard any discussions on them and any future potential?

Under TOS, I am not posting this to start any speculations or criticisms of the seller - just to discuss morphs and a "different" looking pied.

that's a cool looking pied! i don't think it is 10k cool lol. imo, as random as pied patterns are, i would guess that is just the way that one turned out. time will tell, genetic or not it is cool. the name is a little tacky, imo.

Why does that now show a link back to my Pretzel and Bailee feeding thread?

Doesn't a moderator normally note when they've changed a link?

Here's the link again - Link:

Good lord that thing is cool...but since a pied's markings are random and not genetic, I don't understand why someone would pay 10k for that one. I mean, it's supremely cool...but...

I would pay 10k for that, if i had 10k..lol

"normal" 80% pieds go for around 8k anyway. So that "special" one, to me is worth it.

And...That high white pied can throw low white pieds, just as a low white pied can throw high whites.

Its all what the parents look like, not just the current, but the past generations of them.

I saw that one a while back, too funny!

This has been around for a while now and seems to be growing in the classifieds. Sellers naming their snakes for marketing purposes only. Bubble gum this, Candy that, etc, etc. 99% of the time it's just to set their snakes apart from the rest in the classifieds, make it pop.

The thing is, it works! You were so interested in the ad/name that you linked it here and others will link it elsewhere asking the same questions. It generates a buzz and gets their snake/ad to more people.

Just don't confuse those with the actual mutations called "bubble gum" and "candy" ... they are the real deal ... hot stuff for sure! ;)

Exactly…you have to know the difference between the real deal morphs and lineage Vs someone just throwing a phrase or name to describe their snake to make the ad more attractive.

I've seen ads for Chili Pepper Hypos and in the ad an average looking Hypo boa. I saw an ad 2-3 weeks ago for a Purple Haze boa and in the ad an average BCC pictured.

Sorry to derail here - I've checked the moderator logs and no threads were edited yesterday (the 4th) - and indeed an edited by message would have been appended were that the case.

I think it's just like any other business though ... an educated buyer is a protected buyer ... from home electronics, to auto repairs, to plumbing, etc .... if you don't do research, check references, and use common sense before spending your money, there's always a chance you can be taken to the cleaners by a meat head that is much better at marketing than delivering a quality product. ;)

Well that particularly snake is worth 10k just to look at because he's gorgeous, but to beat the dead horse, I thought what I had read about pieds is that the parents markings in no way dictate what their offsprings markings will be, nor dictate the general percentage of white.

    Is this correct or incorrect?

Cass, Percy, one if my lil uns' has the same letter 'P' marking on his back that his mother does, in the exact same spot. However, since BP patterns vary so much, I doubt that that pied would produce babies exactlky like her....maybe simimalr, but not exact or close.
