What should my first morph group be?
Hey guys, Quick question. Im getting some some cash in the near future, around 3k.

What kind of morph 1.1 pair should I look into, in that price range?

I was thinking about getting 1.1 het Pied from Snake Keeper - Male is 250, and female is 1500, with leaves me with around 1250 left.

I was also thinking about 1.1 pastels, but kinda like the idea with the het Pieds.

Also, how much does a het pair for albino go for?

    Thanks...psl

    Pieds ROCK!

I would get the pied pair, and then get a pastel to start a pastel pied project. *drools*
My het albino pair was $650.

Hmm. 650.00, thats not bad at all.

I have my 1100 gram normal female now, and be ready to do my first breding this season, then when i have that down, im going to get a pair of hets.

im leaning towards the SK het Pieds, but waiting for something to come along.

With $3k to work with, you could get the pair of het pieds AND a male pastel to put with your normal female next year....sounds like a sweet deal to me!

You could get your het pieds and with the 1250 left you could get a 1.1 pair of pastels from here: http://crestedgecko.com/ball_python_available.htm , and still have enough for a het albino male! LOL:P

Don't forget any tax and shipping as well...=)

By the way, your first morph should be the one or two you love the most. =)

I could not agree more. A pair of het pieds, and a pastel for sure. Clowns would also be cool, but pieds are so sweet!!!!

if pastel clowns are the ones that you want most, then go for them. het clown female this year, get a pastel to go with your normal girl this year and buy an unrelated het clown male next year. pieds are awesome too! i would do the same with pieds, invest in girls first.

But your 3k budget would allow you to get a het clown female and a beautiful pastel male. That would be a much closer "step" towards a pastel clown than a pair of het pieds.

Go for what you love ... if you can't come out of pocket for it, get as close as you can with the budget that you do have.

The time will fly faster than you can imagine!

My mom is kinda getting into snakes with me too.

She especially likes the bumble bee. Thats just a spider and a pastel, right?

I can get a male pastel for 250 and ive seen spiders go for like 1800 and up.

Why are the spider males for $$$ than the females?

Re: What should my first morph group be?
bumblebees rock! female spiders are priced less because there hasn't been any super spiders proven yet. and spider x spider breedings haven't produced anything but more spiders(to the best of my knowledge). imo, a female pastel will give you a little more options (super pastels) down the road. there are alot of options, with your budget or a little more you might be able to get a male spider and a female pastel with a little size on her, maybe. so many choices!
