Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
So I don't :hijackd: any further hehe.
I LUBS my coffee . . . I NEEDS my coffee - full blown pot-by-noon USRDA daily requirement that Vitamin C is, aye wot.
Not too long ago safety inspectors traipsed through demanding the removal of this and that - and I had been told my cherished coffe maker would be nixed.
I had to commandeer a little filing cabinet and pop a hole in the back for the power cord to go stealth. So long as no one not in-the-know doesnt swing over and jerk the thing open all's well. . . . although a visiting contractor the other morning asked me "Hey, bud - why's your filing cabinet sound like its choking?"
 salute

Caffeine deprivation headaches, anyone?
<-- You betcha

Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
I'm fairly certain that coffee is mentioned somewhere in the Bill of Rights.
And besides, without my coffee, I BECOME a workplace hazard. Someone call OSHA! Ken hasn't had any coffee yet!

Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
The last few days a bottle of Gin and Juice in the morning makes me feel better!! lol
-
Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
If safety inspectors wanted to ensure employee safety...They better make DARN sure I have coffee.
-
Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
Just read my signature quote to see what I think of coffee LOL.

Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
I have never been a big coffee person, but replace coffee with Sunkist and/or Mountain Dew and I can't get enough. My girlfriend tried to get me to quit drinking them. I had such a bad headache the next day and was so crabby that she left went and bought me a 6 pack of Sunkist. She has never tried to get me to quit since. ;)

Did you know Sunkist has almost the same amount of caffeine in it that Mt Dew does? :O

Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
diet pepsi is the sweet nectar of life. :pepsi: i do drink coffee at work though, because it's freaking cold in here and whatever it is that we brew here must be super strength on the caffeine. MUST have caffeine! i am SO not a morning person and i stay up way too late at night because i'm such a night owl, so without caffeine in the mornings i'm not even close to functional.

Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
I'm a slave to Dunkin Donuts coffee ... it's liquid gold as far as I'm concerned ... when I moved to Maryland and looking for a place to live, close proximity to Dunkies was a requirement ... and guess what ... the shop is 4 blocks away from a Dunkies as well. ;)
Lately, I've been rockin "Coke Black" for afternoon/evening caffeine fixes ... NICE STUFF ;) ... I like it. :D

Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
I looooove coffee....but I only actually have it a couple times a week. My biggest caffiene vice is Diet Coke w/ Lime. I swear, they have put something way more addictive than caffiene in that stuff because I get nuts if I have to go a day without. :taz:

Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
oooh diet coke with lime is awesome. something a little weird about it though--like if i get a 12 pack of it by the time i'm done drinking it all i don't want it for a while, but then i see it at the store and i must have it again!

Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
I usually have a cup or two in the morning and then Rick and I will polish off a pot each weekend day...but lately, since I've been painting miniatures, I've cut back because caffeine makes my hands shake, so now I may have coffee, may not.
In college, I was totally addicted...but I did "get off caffeine". You can't go cold turkey...ease off slowly. Try one less cup/Mt Dew/Sunkist/Whatever every other day. Your body will adjust and you shouldn't have headaches...=)
Non-alcoholic carbonated beverages of choice: Diet Sprite and Diet Squirt :gj:

Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
I used to drink the Full Throttle energy drinks by Coke or NOS..but since Im trying to watch the blood sugar, Im down to the Coke Zeros or Diet Cokes w/ Splenda...Which means I have to limit the Twinkies too :)
So how does everyone drink their coffee?
I have to have sweetener :) Gotta keep up the "winning" personality..LMAO

Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
Only at reptile shows do I need coffee. And then it's a triple Grande peppermint mocha latte from Starbucks, accept no substitutions. I've been known to pay exorbitant amounts of cash to have one hand-delivered.
Outside of the occasional sugar-free Red Bull slip up, I'm strictly a water & green tea kind of girl. ;)

Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
Most people at my work might as well have an IV of liquid caffeine inserted into their arms. Coffee, Mtn Dew, Dr. Pepper. And everyone goes through "bottled water phases" where they drink it for a week and then give up and sulk back to the breakroom for coffee :) I should love coffee, but I really can't drink it; my stomach/digestive tract does horrible things to me if I do. I am addicted to Sunkist :) Always a bottle at my desk.
-
Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
Before reading this thread, I had NO idea that Sunkist had so much caffiene. Or any, for that matter. Learn something new every day!

LOL!! I was supposed to quit drinking alot of caffeine so I switched to Sunkist. Then I found it is just as bad as Mt. Dew. Most people think orange doesnt have caffeine, boy are they wrong. LOL!!!

Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
Strawberry soda, mountain dew, and an alcohal of your choice for the mornings.....lmao. Never really got into coffee yet altough we got some really god coffee beans and some coffee creamer that was liek 23% alcohal which made a cup of coffee ok too drink even though it reminds me of dirt

Re: Caffeine junkies and morning rituals
i cannot survive without coffee... it's kinda sad but the other day, i was in the middle of moving, and i had my coffee and my coffee pot, but i left the filters at the other house!!! i was in a hurry didnt have time to macguyver anything up so i just went off to work hoping for the best. national city is too cheap to buy us coffee, so by the time i went to lunch i seriously felt like crap. at lunch i went to my parent's house and fired up some brew and it was like pure heaven... the whole thing kinda reminded me of that movie trainspotting if anyone's familiar with that one.
long live the majik bean!
