    Interspecies Brunch
Just in case anyone doubts how weird my cat is, Cleo decided to sit in for a lunch date with Bowie. Splitting a salad, a la Lady and the Tramp. And yes, she's really eating Bowie's salad. Excuse the mess, but bunnies find paper tossing/phonebook destruction very entertaining.

Also, Unut is growing like a weed! To show you how fast a baby hotot can grow, this is Unut and Bowie on May 17th the day we brought him home... Note his whole body is only slightly bigger than Bowie's head.

And this is Unut and Bowie yesterday!

And the wabbit shall sup with the kitty and there shall be much rejoicing and tossed salads . . .

    Hehe that's unreal I don't think I've seen a cat eating a salad before.

I have seen that demonbunny before though - he tore through a bunch of knights in front of a cave if memory serves ;)

:lmao: And they saw that it was good. :halohorn:

Bowie red-eyes like nobody's business, even in person! He's supposedly a dutch mix, but I wonder sometimes if he isn't pure dutch or a mix with some mild form of albinism. His eyes are so cool, one is hazel with reddish pupils and the other is half blue half hazel with reddish pupils. His weird eyes and pale coloration is what got him named after the Thin White Duke.

Cats are crazy, Cleo not only eats salad but begs for Ritz crackers, cheetos, almost any kind of soup, popcorn, the rabbits' hay, and baked beans (which she does not get!) amongst other things. And this was even before she was on perscription food that she finds so-so! We don't really let her have all that stuff, but it's hard to keep her out of the rabbit stuff. I guess she knows what she's doing though, she's close to 18 years old now and is awfully healthy and spunky. :) She's never been tempted by plastic wrap though! That's a new one! But she will try to stealth steal soup or milk by sticking her paw in your bowl. Gotta watch that girl!

And yes, Judy, we do live in a world of perpetual cuteness! It's a little hard on the heart/brain some days. It'll be the death of me one day! "She was just sitting on the couch holding a baby snake with the cat purring next to her... and... and a bunny hopped up and licked her foot... then... then she just keeled over!"

And yes, Porkchops, I've got oodles of cuddle bunny pics. I'll post a few more on this thread for you in a sec, gotta find em or at least narrow it down, lol. :)

A few especially squishy bunny pics for Jake! Some are a little old, but cute bunny cuddles nonetheless. :)

Unut's got some serious hero worship stuff going on with Bowie, its sweet.

Maybe because he makes such a good pillow/ear-warmer when it's naptime.

Ohhhh that picture of Bowie sitting on Daphne so she can't get to the food dish is hilarious! We have a female rat whose a bit odd like that. She steals all the lab block (which is mixed in with other yummies) and piles it in one corner of the cage. Then if her female rat friend spies it....believe it or not she runs over and sits on it and attempts in her own rattie way to look innocent..."huh? food? over here? under my butt? ummm nope..don't think so!" Animals are too too funny! I can't believe how much the baby bun bun is growing! Such a lovely rabbit with those eye markings!

Life would be so boring without critters around, lol! That's so funny about your rats, Jo! Sneaky! It reminds me of how they've proven that ravens lie to each other about the location of food, but I forget where I read about that...

The real story behind the squished Daphne pic is when our bunnies want loves (grooming, kisses, snuggles what have you) from each other they thrust their heads under the other bunny's face or the human's hand/foot as the case may be. Daphne wanted loves... Bowie wanted dinner! ;)

And you laugh, Judy, but one of these days...! Death by cute! :hokitty:

    Re: Interspecies Brunch
I can believe that Sheree! Ravens are incredibly intelligent and long lived. They can learn and teach behaviours to other ravens. They will draw attention to a carcass of something like a moose that they can't open. They wait for the bigger predators to do the hard work then get a much easier meal for themselves that way. We had friends that raised three wild ravens when their mother was shot. Two eventually left but the third, though given his freedom, chose to stay. It was really impressive to be standing around just talking to them and a fully adult and quite large male raven suddenly swooped in to land on them LOL. Only problem was he'd steal anything shiney so things like car keys, loose change, rings, etc had to be kept out of his sight. He also enjoyed a bit of sport harrassing the local bald eagle population then flying like mad back to his humans where I bet the smart bugger knew the wild eagles would not follow him.

P.S. They are great birds but are meant to be wild and are protected in some areas so please don't take this little story of mine as a reason to try to have a raven of your own. They really are enjoyed best as the wild, free creatures they were meant to be. :)

    Re: Interspecies Brunch
Wow! That must have been incredibly impressive! What an experience... Ravens are hilarious and so clever! I would never want one of my own, of course, it's bad enough with the cat and rabbits outwitting me, I don't need a critter as smart as a raven making me crazy!

I saw this one program where a bird rescue had a bonded adult raven who'd fly alongside the car or sit on a seat in the car with them and so on... the car was an old thing that took a long time to start up, and he made them crazy by turning the key and thus shutting the car off when they got out to open the gate on the outskirts of the rescue. He'd always hop back up and leave the keys in the ignition too and return to his perch, it took them a while to figure out it was him turning it off!

    Re: Interspecies Brunch
They really are an amazing bird. When we lived in the Canadian Yukon I was completely amazed at the size some of the ravens up there got. I swear they needed to file a flight plan to land! I grew up around blackbirds and crows and was floored at the sheer size of the ravens in the Canadian north! Up there you couldn't leave dog food outside or give your dog a bone outside as the ravens would come harrass and peck at the poor dogs (course if you're stupid enough to leave food outside anyway when you live in Grizzly country....well....)

LOL...The way Cotton's "hair" is, sometimes I just wanna mouse it a little cause it'd make the perfect mohawk!!! I love Bowie's colors too! What is that color called...the soft grayish tan color? Such a unique one too with those eyes....

I forget if the rescue we got him from called his coloring lavender and white or lilac and white... I think it's lavender, kind of like a lavender corn. ;) He was perfect... an oddball, a sweetheart, already neutered, and Daphne loved him. Meant to be, just like Unut!

Every time I look at Lucky I fall over at the cuteness tho, lol! Those ears almost lost in the fluff... !
