My oldest will be away at camp. As for the rest of us, we'll probably take in a local fireworks show. With the super-high fire danger around here, we certainly won't be doing any private fireworks.

were those boots made for walkin'? :P

i'm not really doing anything. they do fireworks over the river downtown but it's highly overrated, not to mention that finding parking, walking from the spot you found 8 miles away after sitting in stopped traffic for an hour and packing yourself onto a tiny riverfront street with several thousand other people in 100 degrees and 100% humidity to watch a pretty low quality 10 minute show is not exactly my idea of a fun time. been there, done that, don't feel the need to ever do it again. kind of like that time in college that...oh wait, nevermind. :D

Well, my aunt is getting a new horse in to try out to buy so I'll be at the barn earlier in the day, and then in the evening we'll go to the fireworks at the beach of Lake Michigan. They have a band play before and during the fireworks show, it's quite nice really, and you're very close to the fireworks *BOOM!*

i want to light off my roman candle and get some more fireworks from a stand. after that we're going to a firework show, but it also has singing, plays, and stuff. if it were me id only go for the fireworks but my whole family (on my moms side) goes every year so.... and my sisters came down to visit from washington.

Ooh roman candle eh? You like the big boomers lol.

The guy who lives behind us makes explosives.. I remember about 5 years ago he brought a half stick of dynamite and a small bomb or something to the neighborhood party to set off for the 4th. It made a big boom. Guy is crazy but.. whatever.

Well, we just get the 4th off, so I have to work on Monday (and didn't want to burn up a PTO day just to have a long weekend - I'm doing that at Thanksgiving, since we're open the day after). So, the 4th is just a free day off - no real plans. Maybe BBQ some babyback ribs on the Barbee! ;)

Pretty much the same - we've built up quite a stockpile over the years that I only recently (re)discovered. BBQ, beer and blue blazes otherwise!

Well my aunt won some free Indy car tickets for the 2nd, so me and my dad are going and we already bought pit passes for it. WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!

On the 3rd, we go out to one of my mom's work friend house in the country and shoot guns and light off fireworks.
on the 4th ill be at my house lighting off fireworks. one of my neighbors buys over $2000 worth of fireworks every year. He gets them in bulk. Boy does he put on a show!

Macy's 1st birthday is on the third, so we'll be celebrating two births by having a family BBQ and shooting off some fireworks (my sis bought a HUGE pack of them for her daughter's birthday). Probably go see the locals show, as well.

If you are going to the US Grand Prix, it's not Indy car...it's Formula 1. F1 is another breed; the event will be very colorful and multi-cultural - amazing event. =)

I will be on a long haul flight to the states. It is taking 18 hours and 5 planes but it was the cheapest way to go. Me 3 kids in a enclosed tube of tin foil at 1500 feet................joys ( Pass the VALIUM PLS) I get in to denver airport at 845pm on the 4th and leave at 9am ireland time. For those that dont know there is a 7 hour time turn from denver to ireland. 12 there is 7 here.

On the bright side I might get to see fire works from above them........... mabye not. Man I hate flying. Hope the ppl have an abundant supply of ASB's

Hope you all enjoy whatever you do on this day. and spare a thought and prayer for me.............lol

Beauty the BP, ive been to denver airport! when you're going there you think you're gonna see tons of rocky mountains around you but it is FLAT! but look for the rockies when you're close enough to the ground to see them. they're absolutely beautiful from above!
