    Anyone have any "issues" getting in touch with Matt or anybody for that matter from this company. I ordered two Herpstats from him a couple of weeks ago, my credit card has been charged but I've yet to see the items. Numerous messages and emails with no response. What gives?!

    I had a little trouble last time I ordered from him. It would take a couple days for him to respond and I didnt get any products untill about a month or more afetr I ordered them. He may be a good guy but with the experience I have had with him I probably won't order from him again unless I start hearing good things again.

    Well so far I am not very happy. My order better not take a MONTH. I ordered some stuff from Reptilesupply.com at the same time and I received it in less than a week.

    I am not dealing with Matt anymore. From what I understand he is a one man show. It took me a month to receive my last shipment from him as well (after many calls and emails).
    Nice enough guy to talk to but I stopped believing his many assurances that my order was "in the mail" by the end of the first week.

    Well I guess that its good we are putting the word out to other unsuspecting buyers. I figured I couldn't go wrong because I saw so many thread referring to the company and how "great" they were to work with and how knowledgeable they were. This is classic, a quote from the website: "Feel free to contact me on any issue you might have. I will

    Matt seems like a great guy, but I won't deal with him again either. The first time my order was placed, after at least a week of waiting I emailed just to find that they were out of stock on the item I already paid for, and I was going to have to wait another week, I cancelled.

    Second time I ordered I was very clear on when I expected the delivery to take place, and it was delayed almost a week beyond that.

    I've started ordering from Rich at Reptilebasics, he has always answered his cell for me, and ships stuff out to me within hours of me ordering it, one time in 30 mins ...

    Great guy, 5 *'s from me.

    I have ordered from him before and that shipment came very quick but im still waiting on my last order. Been a couple weeks (I know thats not too long) but I ordered the crimp tool from the company that makes the flexwatt a week after I placed the order with Matt and it came 2 days after I had ordered it.

    That is exactly what happened to me. He assured the stuff was in the mail and it wasnt.

    Matt helped me with any questions i had for building my rack and he emailed back pretty quick, but, when i went to order the flexwatt for the rack it NEVER came. i got in contact with him and tried to get my money back through pay pal. i guess paypal contacted him or something and he sent us a very rude email. he said he was gonna put my name, phone number, paypal account, or something to that effect, on every forum on the net saying that i was trying to fraud him.

    i would never deal with him again although a lot of people seem to like him. the other stuff for the rack like the wire, crimps, and crimp covers came pretty fast with no problem.

    Although it is not good business practice to say something when it's not true, I say keep the slamming to a minimum...I've never ordered from the guy, so I don't know what you guys have had to deal with.

    And as mentioned on his web site, it is a one man show. If you've ever run a business on your own, you know and understand how extremely hard it is to keep everything straight all by yourself.

    I think it's unfortunate that you guys are still waiting on your order...perhaps he will see this thread as a wake up call and get your stuff out to you before his rep gets ruined around here. I know one thing, I do hate waiting on things due to lag in shipping...in a sence, i feel your pain...

    I think one thing that really sets some companies apart from others is customer service.....responding to e-mails, phone calls, forum threads, etc...makes a huuuge difference in sales...Perhaps MG Reptiles should take that into consideration.

    I don't mean to offend or defend anyone in my post...just expressing my views on these types of companies. I know Matt is a supporter of this web site. I see his banners flickering all the time and he has 900+ posts. I do not believe he is here only to take your money. Give it some time and you will recieve your product or a refund, i'm sure.

    I got my product quickly and completely w/over $400 of t-stats, flexwatt and other supplies. I've had to wait a couple days for return phone calls, but he's always been willing to answer ALL the questions I had, even when the phone call was about 45 min.


    I'm getting ready to place another t-stat order w/him as soon as I get paid again (something about getting another 4 snakes and having run out of plugs on the strip) :D :D but everyone has to make their own decision based on their reception of the information.

    I'll keep ordering from him.

    I *heard* through the grapevine that Matt was just dropshipping directly from the manufacturer. Not sure if thats founded or not, but if his business is being slow, why not just go directly to the manufacturer?

    I ordered mine right from Dion (the owner) and it took a whole !3 days! to get to my door. I also have a friend who had a defective Herpstat...Dion credited shipping both ways and had the repaired unit back very quickly.

    Matt is usually really good, but as with all suppliers, he slumped for a little while. He is back up and running as hard as ever. Have faith in him, he is a good man and we all have times where it overwhelms us. I also have had orders delayed from him, but the second was shipped free, and after that: no problems. I, not too long ago actually, ordered some stuff I needed ASAP. He understood and they shipped the same day I ordered them. He really is out for the customer, but we all have our moments. None of us are perfect.

    And maybe if the order costs enough, like over $400 he might send it right away to keep the big spenders. But if it is a small order maybe he just doesnt care very much about. Priority shouldn't take place over the price of the order, it should take place on who ordered when.

    i understand about orders being late, etc. but my order NEVER came and when i tried to get reembursed thru paypal (i guess they have a guarantee about orders never getting received) i got the flexwatt because of paypals guarantee but he sent me a very rude email like i said above, calling me a fraud, and "how dare you" etc, etc.

    I agree, but then again, as a buyer who has dealt with him and considering this is a public thread in the inquiry forum, perhaps he does have the right to speculate based upon his experience with the seller.

    I believe in an Inquirey thread, people have every right to come on and give an honest testimony about their experience with the business. Speculating about why a transaction did or did not occur leads to nothing but hard feelings and flames and does nothing to help others make an informed choice about whether or not to do business with the one in question.

    Yup I have been behind for quite sometime, usually about 2 weeks. I am not dropshiping anything(did during Christmas, no way I could get them all out in time). As of Saturday I have hired a shipping clerk(Shane) to make sure everything is on time every time. I will still be doing all the custom wiring and thermostat wiring as I only trust me to do that. I apologize if you have experienced a delay any time as I myself do not like to wait at all(not even a day). Whoever it was that said it is a one man show is correct, I was trying to do everything myself and honestly it worked for about a year but MG Reptiles has grown so quickly that it is IMPOSSIBLE to do it alone. I tried buying software to help, but only helped, didnt solve the problem. If you would like to contact me if you have had a slow delivery and would like 10% off and free shipping on your next order pelase do so, I can assure you it will be out the same day or the day after it is placed. I know I should have had someone in here sooner to help fill orders but I guess I was just plain stubborn. I do appreicate everyone giving their opinoins(as long as their mature).. I am always open to suggestions as to how to make MGR better!

    For MR Python: Your order was sent in a timley fashion, it was delivered and you filed a paypal complaint saying you didnt receive it so you could get a refund. I did indeed send you a BLUNT email letting you know what I thought of scammers and your mom replied to me asking me to please not tell anyone about what you did as you are only a child. Email me if you would like more info.

    Matt that is not at all what happened. I never sent a single e-mail, it all went through my dad as he was the one who paid for it, since i dont have a credit card. Everyone, that post he just made is a pure lie. I never sent an email to him, nor did my mom, it was all my dad. I waited over a month for my product. At first my dad was patient, but when it got to the point where you had the money, and we had no products, he questioned you about it. You said you had already sent the order and that the mail service must of lost it. Then you sent another package , yet i was missing the flexwatt and a thermometer still. It took another 2 weeks to get that after more emails from my father. If you would like to talk to my dad about this we can arrange it. He'd be more than happy to talk to you.

    i actually did look at the tracking and it did say it got to our house but we NEVER received it. we told you it could have been stolen off our front porch (we live next to some pretty bad low lifes) and we went to paypal. NOT YOU. we never even contacted you about our flexwatt not getting to us. paypal must have contacted you and thats why you sent that "blunt" email. also, my mom never said "please dont tell anyone about what i did". she told you not to do it because it wasnt true. i just looked at the email.

    I agree...it's just not our business what happened between a business and customer. Take it up in PM's, or discuss in over the phone with the phone number he provided.

    I think I'll stick with Matt. Just my opinion though. I believe he fixed the problem and won't let it happen again. Plus, after all this, he'll most likely make sure there will be no other problems.

    I know that some people have had problems with Matt, but I've been doing business with him for almost a year and will continue to do so. The only time there's been a problem was when I got a bad t-stat and Matt bent over backwards to take care of the problem. I've gotten nothing but first-rate customer service and quite a bit of free advice. I'll be sticking with Matt also.

    lol you and my husband... he isnt happy unless he is hooking wire up to something... that is what I get for living with a Acustic enginere (sp? I HAVE TO LEARN TO SPELL!)
