Roaches for feeders?

What kind of roaches would be best to feed to my lep? He is about 6-7 in long from head to tail. Thanks.

blaptica dubia. check it out: http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...702#post369702. the adults are fairly large, so maybe ones that are half grown would be good for an adult leo.

I use Blatta lateralis for my 3 leos. They get slightly larger than adult crickets and the don't climb. They are very active so it gives the geckos a good workout when chasing them and they seem to like them. its very easy to tell male from female and to top it all off, there cheap. I'm getting another load of them in and at 500 for $55 shipped its not too bad price wise either. I order from Clarks Geckos BTW

Thanks for the help everyone but one thing I found out my parents will never allow in the house is roaches.

LOL, my mom was the same way until I explained to her that the house is too cold for these kinds of roaches to breed and infest. That cleared her mind quite a bit. And seeing as they don't smell like crickets, thats a big plus

well i picked up some roaches for my critters and got rid of them shortly afterwards. i just couldn't handle having them in the house... ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

i had the dubias btw.

lol, These things are cleaner and smell better than crickets. I am ordering another 500 tonight actually

lol, wait till you have more critters that eat bugs before you push to hard. I only have 3 leos and going they go through 4-6 dozen a week!!!

So far the tokay utterly LUBS them!

So far I'm sold - just hoping I keep them well enough the colony takes off - not feeding out of them too often though until they start reproducing.

Very nice picture. I'm sold on roaches as the #1 feeder as of now. There easy to keep, easy to breed, little smell, and require almost no attention at all
