    My intro, finally
I realize that when I came upon this forum, I was in a bit of a panic, and didn't take the time for a proper introduction. So, here it is!

My name is <duh> Sarah, I'm a happily married mom to a 15 yr old daughter and a 6 yr old son, Courtney and Marcellus. AKA Marc.

I've always had animals of every sort. I was raised on a farm, so I've raised horses, cows, chickens, goats, rabbits, hogs and sheep. Many were raised for food, some we showed and sold. I've had cats my entire life, both in the barn and house. Occasional dog, but mostly they annoy me. Don't get me wrong, they are cute and lovable, just not my cup of tea.

Now I love and enjoy living in the suburbs of the big city of Dallas. I've worked in downtown, but now I'm happy to be working from home, running my own hosting and internet security business.

My daughter had a ball python last year at her dad's house, but it ended up having mites and died from the shock of the treatment, I'm told. She wanted another for her birthday this year, and since I have more experience with animals, I decided it would be easier to keep one at my house. HA! More fool me, my grandmother would say ;)

I guess you all know the rest of the story. I'm learning all about ball husbandry here, and really enjoying every minute of it. I would love to meet more of you all in person, as that's how I roll, haha.

Heres to a proper welcome. They do have a pretty good show in Dallas coming up. You may want to look into it, as uou would probably enjoy getting to see all kinds of stuff. Leave the wallet at home though, or you may be enticed to part with some cash. Great to have you here.

    Thanks for the welcome!

Courtney, what a lovely name you have ;)
    I've always loved that name.

Living on a farm has it's cool points, but mostly I associate it with a lot of hard work. I left home at 17 to go to college to get away from it and never looked back. There are days I think I wouldn't mind having some land to put some horses on, so maybe later in life we'll do that.

Tim, yes, I plan on going to two upcoming shows. One in July and I heard a rumor of one in August. I'm hoping to meet a few people from the forum at each :)
I probably will spend more than I should, haha.

Belated welcome to the forum Sarah and don't worry about not doing the intro post thing, you had far more important issues to deal with.

I do the same pets and ex-husband thing as I share custody of my middle two children. Since I'm the crazy pet parent both Luke and Beth's snakes live here full-time though for a short time Beth did have a pair of female rats at her father's home (they eventually joined our breeding colony here though LOL).

Joanna, thanks and wow, I love your pets names. Very creative!
You live very close to my family's dream vacation destination. Ever get to Cedar Point? We are all coaster fanatics here :D

Tim, thanks for that link! I will definitely attend that one as well. Wow, Fluffy is just...wow!

I haven't been to Cedar Point in years but since we just moved to Toledo a short while ago we haven't had a chance to get back there yet. Hopefully we'll get at least one trip in this summer and then perhaps get a family pass for next summer as it's only about an hour or so away so I've been told.

Thanks for the compliments on the names. They are all Celtic, and spelled that way rather than the "english" translations, but it was more my husband Mike's idea than mine (Mike posts on here as McAdry...our 12 year old daughter Beth as northerngirl05...our 18 year old daughter as Keno's Oldest...just our two sons to join now lol)

Well definitely post about CP when you go. I'd love to hear all about it!

That's cool that most of your family is involved here. I should tell my daughter to sign up. My husband reads over my shoulder and ooh's and ahh's over all the pretty pictures, haha.

Actually I love Cedar Point but hate coasters LOL. I just love wandering around and watching the family have such fun (and snacking on the yummy coaster park goodies!)

Haha, Shelby, we can just keep dreaming of CP. Actually, though, some of the coasters in Chicago look like a lot of fun, too. A couple of weeks ago we were talking about how we would like to try out that Superman one. Looks hot!

Joanna, lol, nothing wrong with just enjoying the day. Coasters are definitely not for everyone.

Sheree, thanks and OH, I love your Blue Beauties. Are they aggressive snakes at all? Their markings are just so...well, beautiful!

    Thanks Rusty :)

Ah yeah the superman coaster is VERY cool. The first loop is the best.. but of all the coasters there, raging bull takes the cake.

    Thanks, Jen!
I've never been big on country music either, despite being a Texan, haha. I do like a few country songs though, and I'll always sing along to Achy Breaky Heart ;)

I would definitely give Raging Bull a try, Shelby. Looks like a fun ride! You should come down here sometime and try Titan on for size!

    Sarah!! Welcome!!:fest2:

I am always pleased when I see a newcomer to the BP.net because this site has changed things about me. Not physically like growing scales or anything like that. But It has definitely changed my perspectives on a couple of things. You will enjoy this environment A LOT and the amount of knowledge is overwhelming in this community. Always be prepared for a veteran BPer to show you a new way to do something, even if it is as minuscule as cleaning your enclosure. They enjoy helping and also turning it into a learning experience.

You will love it here, I promise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

April, before you move there, you might want to think about their regulations about snakes. I think it is just in the city limits, but their rule is nothing over 3 feet. That just about rules out everything. Just thought I would let you know that.

lol don't worry, I'm not going anywhere before finding out laws. I mean 'area' as in very general area. Probably a couple of hours from the city. I hate city living anyway.

Well, Titan is at Six Flags in Arlington. San Antonia also has a 6 Flags park, called Fiesta Texas. I haven't been there in about 6 years, so I'm not sure what good coasters they have there now.
San Antonio is about 5 hours from my house, so probably 4 hours from Arlington.

I know what you mean, the people here are great. I have gained a lot of confidence knowing I have this place to come for information and advice. And I've been laid up in bed for the past 3 days, so I've been sitting here with my laptop, reading everything I can.
