    New Skin/Theme
Heya Folks! Want to get some input from you all...

Right after I finished the "Seascape" theme, I started working on another one that would be completely different from anything BP.net already had. It has turned into a LOT more work than I anticipated, but I was enjoying it......right up until the time my computer died. All my work is still stuck on that hard drive, but hopefully I'll be able to retrieve the data soon and get back to work on it.

What I want to know is if the kind of theme I've been putting all these hours into would even be used? If no one uses it, then I'd rather focus my efforts on other projects. So help me out here.....

Of course, I don't expect everyone to use it...or even like it. But if a few people would enjoy it, then that would be worth it.

In looking at many different sites, I have noticed that some people seem to favor a very dark background with bright, contrasting text. And such themes are also usually quite "busy" with graphics as well. In creating a dark background, basically all the graphics have to be completely revised...and you'd be amazed at how many itty bitty graphics are involved in these forums and modules! LOL

So....can I get a show of hands on how many folks would actually be interested in such a theme?

Dark & Busy = Lots of graphics with a very dark background and bright text.
Dark & Simple = Basic black background with clean lines and simple graphics.
Not Interested = I wouldn't use that sort of theme at all, but thanks for the thought. ;)

it shouldn't cause loading problems. you can make a super busy looking theme without many graphics at all if you do it using colors and/or you can replace the default graphics with more busy looking ones. there are some super graphics intense forums that use this same software that load fine--as long as you can save for web you can load in all kinds of good stuff.

Dark is difficult for me to read. I'm a visual person...so I have to "see" 'em first on my monitor screen before I can decide whether or not I like them.

    So I haven't "officially" voted.

    Sorry. :rainon:

Oh that's ok, Sweety....I just wanted to see if anyone was interested at all. Seems like a resounding "yes" on that score. Personally, I can't stand looking at a dark background with bright text....makes my eyes go all wonky. Because of that, I can't even visit some of my favorite breeders' sites. :(

However, it's obvious that SOME people really like that sort of theme, so I'll continue working on......both! I'll do the simple one first and hopefully have something to unveil in a few days. And when I can retrieve all the work off my old hard drive, I'll finish the "busy" one as well. That may take a while, both in data-retrieval, and in completing the work itself, because it is a total graphics overhaul.
