Ivory/yellowbelly price comparision....

I was looking throught the classifieds today and noticed.....yellowbellies are going for around $1000-$1200......Ivories are listing at $15,000....

Why the big difference? The difference between most normal and super forms of co-dom traits do not have that much of a price jump.

Lesser platties at $25,000 and $200,000 for blue-eyed lucies.... 8x price increase

Pastels at $500 and $5000 for Super Pastels......10x price increase....

but....

Yellow bellies $1000 and Ivories at $15,000......that is 15x price increase...

That is freakin crazy IMO....and if that stays the same, and Ivories are selling...it looks like yellowbellies are a great investment.

I have been seeing Ivories this year for sub 7k :O


I still think the Yellow Belly is a good snake though and makes other morphs "pop" :)

Just to answer Stang's question, as well as cluing in other new people to the conversation....

Awhile back, there was a thread about whether or not the BP market was gonna "crash" or whatever...and a lot of talk about breeders/dealers who sell morphs for way below market value. "Jimmy" was our name for all those sorts of folks who sell expensive morphs for rock-bottom prices just to turn a quick profit without ever considering any benefit to either their customers or the market as a whole.

oh... the real question? the price between Ivory balls and Yellow bellies,disproportionate in the fact that you can buy a pair of yellow bellies for about 1800.00 and a pair of ivorys are about 10,000.00- 12,000.00 a pair.so go ahead and buy all the yellow bellies that you can and make abunch of ivorys and lots of other good stuff.then take it to the bank,or buy a bunch of new morphs to keep it rolling. :gj:
