    Snake Record Keeping Form
Hi Everyone...Just a quick question I see all the time the cards that people have attached to their cages and racks that they use to track the animals (weight, sex, feeding, sheds, etc.)...my question is does anyone have a downloable version or PDF of one?

Rather have a nice one I can just copy then re-create the wheel.

    Thanks so much.

Thank you....Is this the card most people use or are their others?

By this I mean do people track all this information typically for every animal or are there standard items that are tracked and this is the grand daddy of cards?

    Thanks

I am sure there are others, that is just one I had found. I personally use Degei and keep track of my snakes on my computer. ;)

Now we are talking...I love the computer tracking idea much better then cards. A quick google search pops up a few different types of tracking software...have you tried others or just the one you left the link for? Any recommendations or comments on each?

    Thanks

I also tried Free Herp, but from all the ones I looked at Degei does alot more. It tracks everything from feeding, urates, copulations, ovulations, eggs laying etc. It generates cage cards, labels etc. I can go in aand print out reports for feeding etc. It is well worth the $20 for the full version. :D

I have been using Degei for a year and its awesome. Problem is that once you have a lot of snakes, it becomes a pain to update weekly. I just moved to using cards as much as I don't like not having it on the computer. Maybe ill do both...

I use a single sheet log file in which I record any notable events, then input that data into Degei about once a month. Works out pretty well, but I don't think it would be practical over about 30-40 snakes.

BTW, there are a couple of card templates in the download section. Look on the left of this thread and scroll down.

    Hey Jamie,

I created a excel sheet and record non-feeding stuff on that during the week. Then on weekends I sit down and enter all the information at once. For feeding stuff I usually print out the feeding report and check off while I am feeding, then its easy to enter them. ;)

That sounds like a pretty good plan! I was looking for a solution that would let me continue using Degei.

Thats great thank you. In the end, I managed to get a crossover program that allows me to run windows programs on linux and install Degei, very good!
