    Introducing....Gunnar!
This is our new puppy! We just brought Gunnar home today and Mikey is very proud to finally be 5 and big enough for a puppy in the house LOL. He's a bit nervous of her puppy antics but I'm sure he and all the rest of the kids will just love this little sweetheart. She's about 12 weeks old and a boxer/yellow lab cross. We adopted her from the Toledo Dog Warden's office.

Mike, Mikey and Gunnar who wants a kiss rather badly!http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...wantsakiss.jpg

She's a lovely fawn color with a big white chest, 2 white socks on the front and a bit of white on the back paws and a bit of a darker mask...seems to take after the Boxer side a bit more than the Labrador, though she's already trying to retreive things for us and check out those Lab ears LOL.

    What a face!

Isn't that lil stub tail too dang cute!

So far she's had a nice drink of water, a bit of a nibble at her puppy kibble and a walk outside (which included a pee in the grass...go Gunnar go!). Can you tell we are thrilled.

Thanks everyone! We are taking her outside every hour or so and so far...three pee's in the grass and none in the house LOL. Other than the poor thing probably thinks her name is "NO Gunnar!" since that's what she's hearing a lot for the next little while till she learns her manners. Typical puppy days :)

LOL Sheree yep she's either a "loxer", or a "boab" or maybe even the ever popular "boxador" :P So far today Gunnar the puppy is doing pretty good, Mikey the 5 year old owner of said puppy...IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!

Can I kennel the kid? please?

    A small sample of today...

Mikey leave the puppy alone, it needs to rest.

But Mommy *waving purple ball at puppy* she WANTS to play wiff me!

    Mikey LEAVE the puppy BE!

    Mommy....

    What Michael!

The puppy is eating your sandal.

    Oh....crap!

Mommy you said a bad word.

    Yes dear I know

(move forward two seconds in time...after retreiving sandal and settling puppy back down)....

    Mikey stop bugging that puppy!

*again waving the purple ball high* But Mommy she wuvs this ball. Mommy don't you know puppies like to play????? (with that typical kid look that says parents are really big stupid people)

Michael if you don't drop that ball and leave that puppy be......

Mommy the puppy is eating your sandal again..

    Oh crap!

Mommy you said a bad....(well okay you get the picture now LMAO)

Amazing! Thanks for that link Sheree! Good gosh I was joking LOL, I didn't realize but I guess I should that folks keep doing these things....boxador, labradoodle, puggle, etc.....I go back to my first statements on this whole thing....

    it's a mutt....a crossbreed....a mixed breed...whatever...maybe a boxer or a lab cross...but if I call Gunnar a "boxador" Mike may have me medicated LMAO

    Folks are just wierd!

Actually gave me something to think about www.savinglily.com - a Canadian boxer/lab cross aka boxador that was mistaken for a pitbull and almost euthanized under a BSL. When I had Gunnar out for a walk today two people did stop and ask if she was a pit pup. Considering Ohio in embroiled in a big deal over Breed Specific Legislation I best make sure Gunnar's paperwork from the Toledo Dog Warden adoption clearly state what she is and more importantly...isn't.

Yes, do be sure that you have the paperwork from the place you got her from. Here in Ohio there is a HUGE breed specific issue and I have already seen/heard of young dogs such as Gunnar, being euthanized by the animal warden b/c they are thought to be part pit.

    Cute pup though!

We actually adopted her from the Dog Warden's own shelter (seperate from the Toledo Humane Society) and they are the ones that recorded her as a boxer/labrador cross. She very obviously is a that cross and not a pitbull puppy so hopefully they can read their own records LOL

I dunno, I rather like the term Boxador. It brings to mind the image of a bull fighter being made to go into the ring armed with nothing but a pair of big red boxing gloves. Ole! lol!

Karen was slain by Gunnar's cuteness as predicted btw!

That's so sad about the pitbull thing... Lucky you got little Gunnar from where you did, so you have evidence!
