    Fireball
What are the traits that distinguish a fireball from a normal?
I see various snakes labeled as fireballs for sale but none of them look the same.
Mojaves, spiders, albinos, pastels, yellowbellies, etc all can be distinguished but this one is difficult to spot.

There's a website that has "Hunter's Guide to..." and he points out all the characteristics to look for in certain morphs like yellow bellies and others that are sometimes tricky to identify. On another forum, he was asked if he's going to do one for Fire Balls, and he said he's currently working on it, but it is the hardest one yet to do, because they are extremely variable in appearance.

Heh...I'm no help at all, huh?

One thing to keep in mind is that it's not a "fire ball" unless it's proven to make a black eyed leucistic ball python ;)

What is a Yellow belly ?

Every one I see looks like the female I have. What makes it a Yellow ... Mine has all sorts of yellow on her belly.

It's really a bad name for them ... most don't have any yellow at all on their bellies.

Your snake is most likely just a really nice normal. ;)

Reminds me of something I read that I think Adam wrote: "I haven't seen a ball python I didn't like." =D

I think the only real way to prove that you have a fireball is to buy one from Constrictors, and the only real way to prove that you have a yellowbelly is to buy one from SnakeKeeper. Go to the source, or do background checking on people who claim they bought and bred theirs from the source.

I've given up on relying on Kingsnake for good pictures of questionable morphs like these.

Are you kidding? Mike and Colette are certainly very nice people, but they are not the only game in town.

Any of the "Big Ten" ball breeders can be trusted to deliver a quality animal with guaranteed genetics and stand behind it!

I was being a little extreme, true. But that's why I also followed it up with "Go to the source, or do background checking on people who claim they bought and bred theirs from the source" for the unknown breeders saying they have "YELLOWBELLY FOR CHEAP!!"

Or just buy from Adam. There ya go, free plug. Next time I'll have to charge.

Cute, but that wasn't my point.

Anyone that is planning on breeding ball pythons for profit should really be supporting the entire market and not just focusing on themselves.

Just looking out for the potentially "screwed" among us.

Trust me Adam, I agree with you 100%, otherwise I'd be out of business.

I have my own Product Label on the back of my Ball Python bottle of pills~

DIRECTIONS: Proper use of this Ball Python product is to buy it, feed it, and breed it. Unlawful use of this product is strictly prohibited by law.
WARNING: When buying morphs ALWAYS get paperwork, signatures, references, and pictures when dealing with anyone prior to the purchase of this product.

I hear ya, it just boggles my mind how in this day and age people can get screwed with normals that were sold as hets, missexed snakes, "pastels" that aren't really pastels, etc ... I think a lot of time it's just bargin hunting and if you pay junk prices you end up getting junk.

    ROCK ON! :D
