Best place to buy flex watt

Well now I have done it.. I have now bought 4 fricking snakes.. good lord waht is happening to me AHHHHH you all did it. damn you all !!!!!

Ok time to get building.. where can i get the best price on flex watt

Does anyone have a used thermostate they dont need?

When I bought my Helix, Matt was not carrying them - and it appears that he's still not selling them. When I talked to him, he's not a fan of them.

He's still got them listed on his site. I think their along the lines of a "special order" item, but he can and will get them if you like.

Helix is used by most if not all of the big breeders. It is and has been the trusted name in high end proportional tstats for years. I personally use Herpstat and for no other reason than I originally purchased one because it was cheaper and had similar features and I ended up liking the product a lot. Both are very high quality. Pick whichever suits your budget. :)

The last I heard, he refuses to sell Helix. He may have them listed on his site, but he won't sell them.

I don't think that's the case. He and I were talking about t-stats a couple months ago and I asked him about Helix. If I remember correctly, he said that he no longer stocked them because there was no demand for them, but he could still get them. I know that his personal preference is the Herpstat, he feels it is a better unit than the Helix.

Folks, this thread was started asking about suppliers for flex watt so let's just give Sevo some options and leave it at that. Discussions about why a supplier does or does not supply a product is off-topic here as well as pointless since the particular supplier in question isn't contributing directly in this thread. All you are doing is making guesses and speaking for someone else. Let's get back on topic please. :)

As far as whether or not there is a demand for this product or another Erin. I would ask you to check your facts on industry usage before making broad statements like that.

You're right Joanna, I did get off topic, and I apologize. My comment about Helix's demand was solely concerning MG Reptiles, not the industry as a whole, sorry if it was taken that way.

Flexwatt from reptile basics, told him I was in a rush:
First Experience: Dropped off at shipper 30 mins after I placed my order
Second Experience: Dropped off at shipper 1 hour after I placed my order

Received both within 2-3 days

1) Do i need the night drop cord? Do you guys use the night drop feature?

2) how about the thermostate from big apple it is called the Herp Power Proportional Thermostats .. anyone have any luck with these.

You only need the night drop if you're planning on breeding, but even then you can wait until you start to breed and get it then. Who knows, you may need another thermostat by that time and they are coming out with new models with the night drop built in.

As far as the Big Apple stat, I haven't heard too much about them. However, I haven't had the best experience dealing with Big Apple, so I doubt if I would purchase anything from them again.

MG Reptiles has a comparison chart concerning T-stats on his site that may help you decide which would be best for your needs.

i've used homemade stats,rancos,johnsons controls,bah-1000, a few other cheap stats, herpstat and helix dbs-1000. my vote is for helix dbs-1000 hands down! it is proportional,has been around for years(time tested) and is used in the majority of breeding facilities. for ball pythons a rack setup with a proportional stat is the way to go, they do very well in racks and stable temps. i would buy my stats from www.thebeanfarm.com or rich at reptile basics www.reptilebasics.com you can also find them local reptile shows. i don't use a night drop right now, only a few stats to drop. if i had alot of stats to drop i would do the night drop. or if you are away alot during the week or season i would buy a night drop. i like to stay hands on and not get lazy so i force myself to drop the temps manually.

I wouldent use a helix on a chicken incubator but hey what do I know..lol.. I love the fan base I have here. Anything you need Sevo can be had with www.mgreptiles.com for cheaper than anywhere else..

I'm sorry Matt I truly don't know what that comment means. I would ask you respectfully to refer this to Admin if there is a problem or contact a Mod if it is of an immediate nature and an Admin is not present on the boards.

I have ordered different items the from thebeanfarm.com, reptilebasics.com, and mgreptiles.com, and in all three cases got great service and quick shipments ....

For the t-stats, I had a problem with my Helix (which was due to the light setup I am using), so switched to Herpstats. The HerpstatII is nice because it has 2 separate 700 watt outputs each controlled seperately. The night drop is also built in so no extra night drop cords. It has a clock built in, so you just set the time, length, and drop degrees. The thing I don't know is how it will stand the test of time...
