Re: Kinda Funny (balls in the news)
I bet if they'd interview him the first thing he'd say would be, "I thought it was poisonous!".
Re: Kinda Funny (balls in the news)
Haha....that's funny. I'll bet the snake's owner was devestated, believing it lost for good. At least for once, the reporters get the details right and don't blow it out of proportion.

LOL. Either that or "I swear it was 8 feet long!"

"You can't act tough when you are sitting a foot and a half away from a snake,"
why not?... we do it all the time... act tough?... we enjoy and look forward to it!! lol

Re: Kinda Funny (balls in the news)
... I got a balls sorta story. I'll try not to be TOO graphic. But a friend of mine who lives in Illinois told me about this kid this weekend who found out if you send an electrical current through a cattles heart, the main vein will pulsate. Well, he got the heart, hooked it up to the wall outlet and uh, lets just say that scene in American Pie where Jim is "using the pie" for other uses, this guy was doing it with the heart. Well, he got electricuted, died, house caught on fire, house burned down to the ground, all while his mom and dad were out of town.

Wow. :O That has Darwin Award written all over it...
Re: Kinda Funny (balls in the news)
I was crackin up when I heard this story. "How'd your son die?" ... "He was (censored) a dead cows heart." ... "... Oh ...".

sounds fake :) any link to a news report? You know theyd be hopping all over that.
Re: Kinda Funny (balls in the news)
Personally, I don't see how this story can be funny.
Ya...the guy had an interesting reaction to a live snake in the car, but are any of you thinking about the ball python and the bad publicity for snake owners?
That poor ball python was left in a car during the summer for only god knows how long. Would it have been funny if he had reacted that way because he found a dead ball python cooking on the console because some idiot forgot it in there?
Also the news article can be used by politicians and animal rights activist to show PROOF that people do not need to own snakes. People trying to regulate and prohibit our hobby find these articles and use them help pass laws.
I have to go to Baton Rouge this Thursday to help show that reptile owners will not stand of legislation that restricts snake ownership. In Louisiana, all it has taken is ONE person that thinks people should not own snakes to gather all these little articles and pictures of snakes doing 'bad things' to get a bill half way through the state government that would PROHIBIT ALL new constictor purchases and require permits for existing constrictors....this includes kingsnakes, any boa, any python, and tons of other snakes.
Instead of laughing at stories like this, maybe next time people should call/write the paper and voice how cruelty to snakes is unacceptable and the person that left the python in the car should be punished. If it were a dog or cat that were left in the car, people would have been outraged that they were left in that 'oven' and cruelty charges would have been filed.....but after all it was just a snake, right?
