Was so worried about Monster not getting enough nutrition from his meals. Would not except mealworms, pinkies or hoppers. Crickets were the only thing he would touch. Even with dusting I was worried. Was thinking he wasn't quite ready for a mouse yet. Out of desperation I threw one in. It didn't even have time to get all four feet on the ground and he had it. It looks like he has grown considerably in this last week. What a pig!! Don't know why he turned down pinkies. Oh well!:O

He was only a little guy last week, I swear.:confuzd: Can't wait till he reaches full size. Should be about as big as a dinner plate and eat rats.

Dinner plate sized frog? Whoa. I think I'll stick with a little ole red eye tree frog myself. Is he a display frog, or does he tolerate handling?

They do not like being handled. They have very sensitive skin. Most average about 6 inches as adults. Others get larger. They are very aggressive and will normally eat anything that fits in their mouth. The tadpoles will even eat each other. He bit the store manager on the day we got him.

I know thats right. so it'll take down rats. a plate sized frog. don't the french eat frogs? not suggesting you should eat your pets at all but that'd a dinner sized frog.

your guy looks really cool btw. I was a pacman frog and an albino pac man at the pet store the other day and I wanted to get them and try to get little albino pacman babies. I heard they can get pritty big too.

He is a Horned frog otherwise known as a pacman. They normally only reach about 6" across, but I have seen a few huge ones.He has what they call vomerine teeth in the roof of their mouth. More of an extension of the nasal bone. So they can deliver a somewhat painful bite. They don't do much of anything though. They tend to dig down in the subtrate and wait for dinner to come to them. The way their faces are shaped makes it appear that they are always angry. So cute.:)

That's awesome! I've only ever seen small ones in pet stores or herp shows. I had NO idea they got that big...or that they (or any frog!) would eat rodents...that's wild!

Yeah, thats his backside, thats about all he ever shows me. Never wants to be seen if he can help it. He has just got comfortable with sounding off with a little toot like a tiny train whistle. He only does that when house is totally quite and I'm at the keyboard.

Awesome; another horned frog owner! Yours looks very healthy and wide; good appetite? I have had my Cranwell for about 4 years now; here's the only pic I have handy :)
